This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. Post them all at once or in separate posts, but they must be posted in the current week's contest thread. Post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest. ________________ThisWeek___% RFDC ______________4-0____100 BoilermakerRick ______1-0____100 Hawkeye Vince ______1-0____100 muman89 ___________2-1_____67 reents _____________4-3_____57 Hawg Ass __________4-4_____50 schmitty1121 _______2-3_____40 Colonel Angus ______1-3_____33 WaltWilliamsNeck ____2-6_____25 donspiracy _________1-4_____20 good dolphin _______1-4_____20 snake pliskin _______0-3______0 DegenerateDave ____0-3______0 MattMurton'sBeard __0-2______0 Chus ______________0-1______0 Overall Standings CFB Week 1 ______23-37_____38.3 This has to be some kind of miscalculation! |

Notre Dame - 3 vs. Michigan -Michigan still has a lot of work to do. Not buying into them being significantly better than last year Eastern Michigan + 20 vs. Northwestern -Northwestern wins but Eastern scores enough to keep it close. Indiana -1.5 vs Western Michigan -Indiana looked bad last week. They bounce back and I think it's a good value. USC/Ohio State Over 45.5 -If the game is a blowout, I bet USC gets 35+. If the game is close, I predict it's in the 20 or 30s for both teams. |

Pack/Bears Over 47.5 - I see a shootout a comin. (OOPS - L) USC (-7) vs. OSU - USC by 10 at least even in the shoe. (L) ND - 3 vs. Michigan - ND but I will be sweating it out. I don't like taking favorites on the road and I am taking two this week. (L) Dolphins to cover the 4 against the Falcons. Close game but field goal near end of game gets it inside of 4. (L) Vikings -4 over the Browns. Too much fire power from the Vikes. (W) The Cowboys over the Bucs giving the 6. I think the Bucs are going to brutal this year. (W) Chicago + the 3.5 they are getting against the Pack. GB might win, but not by more than 3. (L) 2-5 for the week and my winning percentage goes UP. Ouch. Bad bad bad. Looking for a little redemption in week 3. |

From Pinnacle Sports COlorado -3.5 vs Toledo- After Colorado looked bad in game 1, better respond here or Hawkins may not last the season with a loss. |

All from pinnacle sports, before I get to the Big 10, I'll throw out a couple. North Carolina -4.5 vs Connecticut- Butch Davis is building something at Carolina, and Uconn lost Donald Brown. South Carolina and Georgia under 40- Both teams combined for 17 points last week and not agianst top defenses, and Georgia may not have the starting quarterback. TCU -11 vs Virginia- Virginia lost to William and Mary last week, and TCU has a good defense and will contend for a BCS berth. Kansas -12.5 vs UTEP- UTEP lost to Buffalo and Kansas is a top team in the Big 12. Now to the Big 10 The Big One USC -7 vs Ohio State-USC has the offensive line and running backs and their defense should contain Pryor, wouldn't suprise me if this is a blowout. Air Force and Minnesota over 49- Air Force can score and put up 72 last week and it's the home opener in the new stadium for Minnesota. Fresno State +8 vs Wisconsin- The Badgers started off good last week and then couldn't keep it up and Fresno State usually plays tough in these games. Notre Dame -3 vs Michigan- I like the way Claussen is playing and Notre Dame's defense should contain the Michigan offense. |

Lines from The Greek Under 61 1/2 Illinois St @ Illinois Illini will win easy, Redbirds don't put up much offense in this win Wyoming + 32 1/2 vs Texas Texas goes on the road and wins, but not enough to cover this big number Northwestern -21 vs Eastern Michigan Cats offense rolls at home NFL Saints -13 1/2 vs Lions High powered offense at home vs a rookie quarterback, Saints roll Vikings -4 @ Browns Browns may be the worst team in the league and it shows in the opener Over 43 Chargers @ Raiders Chargers score a ton in this one, win big |

Week 2 Looking Up At A 40% E. Michigan @ Northwestern -21 Just how many directional michigans are there? I know this isn't the good one. C. Michigan +14 1/2 @ Michigan St. Spartans don't have the firepower to run and hide from the Chippewas. Fresno St. @ Wisconsin -7 1/2 Too early in the morning for the Bulldogs to be effective. Pitt @ Buffalo +10 1/2 Wanny blunders his way to a single digit win. ND -3 @ Michigan How is this only 3 for the Irish? Where is Beano Cook when I need him? |

Disappointing showing from OK St., but it shouldn't have been suprising. I should've talked myself out of picking them instead of Iowa. |

From Sportsbetting.com Vikings -3.5 vs Browns- Adrian Peterson should run wild and the Vikings defense should control Brady Quinn and the Browns offense. Cowboys -4.5 vs Buccanneers- The Bucs look like a mess and could be a bad team, and the Boys usually start the season strong. Bears and Packers over 46- Cutler and Rodgers go wild in this nice high scoring affair. |

Dallas -4 over Tampa (SBG) Losing TO might be a good thing. Tampa O looks like a big question mark. Denver +5.5 over Cincy (SBG) Cincy is favored? I know Denver is supposed to be bad, but when did Cincy get good? Cincy has to prove they are worth being a fav. Orton keeps em in it. Under 37 Wash/Nyg (SBG) Should be a tough division game. Giants lose a couple WR's. They should run it a bunch. Washington D should only be better with Haynesworth. |
