This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. Post them all at once or in separate posts, but they must be posted in the current week's contest thread. Post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest. ___________ThisWeek _ Overall ___% ExclamationMoint_3-0___3-0 ______100 FavreFan _______4-4 ___18-6 ______75 MattMurtonsBeard_0-0 ___5-3 ______63 Hawkeye Vince __0-2 ___3-2 _______60 muman89 _______2-4 ___15-11 _____58 RFDC ___________3-1 ___16-13 _____55 DegenerateDave__7-5 ___25-22 _____53 Killer V __________0-2 ___8-7 _______53 good dolphin _____6-8 ___27-31 _____47 BoilermakerRick____0-0 ___7-8 ______47 Bud Dude ________4-4 ___17-20 _____46 Hawg Ass _______2-0 ___18-22 _____45 WaltWilliamsNeck__10-8 _18-23 _____44 newper _________0-0 ___4-5 _______44 reents __________1-5 ___17-23 _____43 handicapper _____0-0 ___2-3 _______40 Chus ___________2-4 ___6-10 ______38 Colonel Angus ___2-3 ___13-21-1 ___38 schmitty1121 ___2-7 ___13-27 _____33 donspiracy _____2-0 ___12-24-1 ___33 snake pliskin ____3-3 ___4-17 ______19 Overall Standings CFB Week 1 ______23-37_____38.3 NFL Week 1 ______49-57 _____46.2 NFL Week 2 _____51-65-1_____44.0 NFL Week 3 _____72-78-2 ____48.0 NFL Week 4 _____53-60 ______46.9 Total __________248-297-3 ___45.5 Please let me know if any of the totals are incorrect. Missouri +3 against Nebraska L going after that home dog/ranked opponent/weekday night thing, which hasn't been great this year Illinois +4 against Michigan State L Sneaky line. MSU is odd as a road favorite coming off an OT win against archrival. The more I think of it the more this screams take the Illini. Miami (ohio) +20 at Northwestern W Cats have not shown the ability to beat anyone by 20. Kansas -19.5 against Iowa State L Ole Piss +6 against Alabama L That south carolina game has really soured the oddsmakers on the Rebs. They were overrated a few weeks ago and now they are underrated. Texas -32.5 against Colorado L Georgia Tech +3 at Florida State W all this bad press is going to be a distraction with a coach who is already confused...do you really trust bowden to figure out the the GT offense in a normal week? Wisconsin +16 at Ohio State L haven't liked OSU giving big points in almost 2 years Baylor +25 at Oklahoma W Iowa -8 against Michigan L Browns +6 at Buffalo W Bengals +8.5 at Ravens W Falcons +2.5 at 49ers W Patriots -3 at Broncos L Texans-Cardinals OVER 49 PUSH Dolphins +1.5 against Jets |

NFL Minn -9.5 vs STL @ ST L - lay the points ride the purple express. (W) Was + 3.5 vs Carolina @ Car - Carolina may be worse than Wash. (L) Det + 10.5 vs Pitt @ Det - Detroit showed me a little something I think they stay close (W) NE - 3 vs Den @ Den - the fairy tale ends this week (L) Ind -3.5 vs Tenn @ Tenn - is this a misprint? (W) NYJ - 1 vs MIA @ MIA - QB less Dolphins no chance 3-2 so far in pros with MNF still left College Mizz + 3.5 vs Neb @ Mizz - home dog more than 3 point line take (L) Mich St - 3.5 vs Ill @ Ill - too good to lay off (W) Purdue + 3.5 vs Minn @ Minn - Boilermaker Rick will be happy Purdue straight up(L) Colorado + 32 vs Texas @ Texas - they can't be that bad can they? (W) Wisc + 16.5 vs OSU @ Shoe - too many points for a ground control game (W) 3-2 in college this week Worse case scenario I end up 6-5 for week, hoping for 7-4 Source: Pinnacle Sports |

From Pinnaclesports. Vikings -10 over Rams - It's silly this line isnt higher. Possibly a letdown game after the MNF victory, but the Rams are so bad I dont even think thats possible. Vikings cruise 34-3. Tampa Bay +15.5 over Eagles - This line just seems a little too high. I dont think the Eagles are a great team right now. Tampa Bay sucks, to be sure, but I think they'll keep it sorta close. Eagles 28-14. Giants -14.5 over Oakland - They should rest Eli this week and they would still cover. Just let their RB's run for about 250 yards and Oakland wont score more than ten. Giants win 27-7. New England -3 over Denver - I kinda felt like an idiot dismissing Denver last week like Dallas should have been some feared opponent. Their defense seems to be legit, Orton's playing well, and everything is going great. I still dont see how they can beat New England. I feel like Denver might be proving me wrong all season. I actually have a $20 bet with a buddy of mine on this game. He took Denver straight up, NE wins 21-13. Houston +5.5 over Cardinals - Arizona hasnt shown it should be favored by this much over a team like Houston. I think Houston wins this outright, 31-28. Colts -3.5 over Titans - The Titans are just bad right now. Terrible. Manning looks as good as ever. Colts 31-10. Jets +1 over the Dolphins - One bad week against a top-tier team on the road and suddenly they wont beat the Dolphins? I'm not buying it. This will be a low-scoring game. Jets win 13-10. |

Kinda. Im staying away from that and the Chiefs game. Dallas isnt good, but I refuse to pick with the Chiefs untill they give me reason to do so. The Steelers defense isnt as good as last year, and they have showed a propensity for letting up in the second half. I can see a 27-20 game that wasnt as close as the score would indicate. However, I feel they should win by 2+ TD's. Pittsburgh is a team I will probably not pick for or against too often this year. Same with the Chargers. I dont have them figured out at all yet. |

I almost went with you on the Giants big over the Raidahs but with a gimpy Eli I stayed away. I am not a big fan of Carr - but even Carr should be able to direct them to a three touchdown win over Oakland. |

From The Greek NCAA LSU +7 1/2 vs Florida At home, Tigers keep this one close, Tebow or no Tebow Auburn/Arkansas Under 64 1/2 Plenty of points on both sides, but not enough to cover the total Mich St./Illinois Under 54 1/2 New QB for the Illini, still not enough offense Georgia Tech/Florida St. Under 55 1/2 Calls for Bowden to move on continue, Noles struggle NFL Vikings -10 @ Rams Vikes beat up the lousy Rams with point after point in this one Giants -15 vs Raiders Eli or no Eli, Raiders might not put up any points anyway 49ers -2 1/2 vs Falcons Tough test for Atlanta, Singletary's bunch win this one at home Colts -3 1/2 @ Titans Titans are still bad, Colts are still really good |

Maryland +12.5 over Wake Frst WF beat Elon by 28, all other games within double digits. Maryland hangs in this one. Navy -11 over Rice Rice is rebuilding this year. Navy keeps on rolling. Idaho +4.5 over SJ State Idaho has covered all 5 games as a dog this year and won 4 of those SU. Good enough for me. |

Michigan State -4 vs. Illinois -My guy(Irish Boy) tells me McGee sucks and I believe him. Purdue +3 vs. Minnesota -Purdue is better than the record they have. Things start to come together here. Wisconsin + 16 vs. Ohio State -Wisconsin is strong enough to keep this close Michigan +8 vs. Iowa -Tate Forcier keeps them close, even if it is late. All from sportsbook.com |

Pinnacle Sports Boston College +13.5 vs Virginia Tech- I think BC may have figured out their offense from last week's win and if the weather's good, should be a good close game. Minnesota -3 vs Purdue- All you hear is how close Purdue keeps games and should be commended, I hope Minnesota blows them out, so we don't have to hear how close Purdue keeps the games. Pittsburgh -7 vs UConn- I like what I see from Pitt and Uconn is not the same team from last year. Alabama -4.5 vs Ole Miss- ALabama has the better defense and the offense can score and I like Bama to roll in this one. Stanford -1 vs Oregon State- I like this Stanford team, don't know what you get in Oregon State, and Stanford stays undefeated in the Pac 10. Georgia +1.5 vs Tennesee- I think Georgia is the better team and they get points, as long as they can get up for a noon game, should add another loss to the Kiffin's. Georgia Tech +3 vs Florida State- I like Tech for the straight out win here, will be intresting to see how the Seminole players play for Bowden, but Tech has a good defense and running the ball a little better with Dwyer healthier now. Oklahoma -28 vs Baylor- This would be a good game if Baylor still had Griffin, he gone, may take a while for Bradford to get it going, but the D will help the Sooners and could shut them out. |

Pinnacle Sports Texans and Cardinals over 50- Texans got the offense going last week and Cardinals will want to respond after the loss to the Colts. Vikings -10 vs Rams- I know a road team after a Monday night game, but the Vikings have a defense, can run the ball, and a quarterback that looks a little good. Colts -3.5 vs Titans- Some of the Titans D may be out, should be eassy pickins for Manning. |

Seattle -1 over Jax Big win for Jax last week. Now they travel across the country to play a desperate Seattle team with their starting QB back. Washington +5.5 over Carolina Line has gone up 2pts. I know Washington isn't too good but I will take the pts against an 0-3 team. Over 44 Pitt/Det Cant see Pitt not reaching the 30's. Detroit doesn't have to score much to get the over here. |

San Fran Pk over Atlanta Looks like alot of Atlanta love with this line down to a PK. SF D plays tough and they go to 4-1. |
