The Rays have to get their first win at some point, and why not today with their ace on the hill. The Sox bullpen has been taxed after two twelve inning affairs, and I doubt Thornton or Sale are available today.
While I do agree the Rays have to get their first win some time in the next week, I wouldn't have rolled the dice on this. Not trying to hate, as I'm all about building confidence, but there were a few reasons not to take the juice:
1. David Price is now 0-4 against the White Sox in his career.
2. Edwin Jackson has been lights out since putting on a White Sox uniform (6-2, an ERA around three).
3. Evan Longoria going down. Psychological downer when your best player goes down so early in the season on an already struggling team.
4. The Rays just came from the dome and a warmer outside climate than Chicago, the temperature today at game time was around 40 degrees.
Just some thoughts man. Want to help the bankroll...
