PGA Tournament

If you are going to bet the winner in this tourney, I’d say bet a good amount on Tiger and small amounts on some longshots of your choosing. Not my style, though. I don’t see much value in that here. At +265, I see no value in betting Tiger to win. Iwill bet Tiger when he’s 4 or 5 to 1 to win a tourney.. At 2.6 to 1, he’s overpriced. He’s not overpriced if he wins I guess, but it’s not my kind of bet. And I don’t particularly like any longshots this week, so I’m going to take some matchups and bet finishing position on a few guys.

I’m betting Ernie and Vijay to finish in the hunt. Neither has threatened to win a major this year, and both of them have the game for this course to put them in the final group on Sunday. And I’m also betting Luke Donald as his game is also suited for the majors and he’s played Medinah a lot.

I also think Furyk is getting a lot of love and he’s a bit overpriced. I’m betting against him in one matchup not because I don’t like Furyk, but because I think there is great value in Retief going against Furyk. Retief has played much better the last few weeks and his accuracy off the tee is a big plus on this kind of course. And I'm going against Adam Scott in two matchups because he also seems overpriced and I like the way his opponents are suited for this course.

Six bets, all for the same amount. Odds and matchups at Pinny...
First Round Matchup: Kenny Perry +131 vs. Adam Scott
Ernie Els to Finish in Top Ten +148
Vijay Singh to Finish in Top 12 +128
Luke Donald to Finish in Top 16 +127
Tournament Matchup: Stuart Appleby +137 vs. Adam Scott
Tournament Matchup: Retief Goosen +149 vs. Jim Furyk
