JORR? You got anything on this?

Vince? IB? Ed in Lisle? There's some money to be made it this race, with 8 horses going.

Sorry, my friend. Since the Triple Crown, I haven't been paying much attention to the sport of kings. Paying too much attention to wedding details.

I did see a story this week on the top horses of the year to this point, though. My buddies Shackleford (2) and Caleb's Posse (honorable mention) were named. Thanks again to them for my exacta win in last year's Dirt Mile Breeder's Cup race. 8)

We should plan on meeting up for this year's Breeder's Cup. Get a group together.

I've been following the harness races a lot more lately. Some friends of mine have a trotting colt that is making his first start Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs. He's supposed to be the real deal. His name is Whole Lotta Nasty.

Little Mike has 10 wins in 13 starts... I'd probably go there.

Tomorrow I'm stuck at work from 7 to 7 with basically nothing to do, so I plan on doing some twinspires betting to pass the time.

I'm a little jaded from taking Little Mike, only because everyone is talking about him as the favorite (even though technically the current odds say Mr. Commons is the fav).

The past 2 weeks I've been putting money on favorites in the Stephen Foster and Mother Goose, and I've been burned.

And with 8 horses, the chances of some nice money has really piqued my interest in this race.

I'm only going to do 5 or 6 bets, and I'll post them. Good luck for anyone betting.

I'm sitting my fat ass on the couch with my iPad in tow, enjoying my AC, and I had a wild hair to check out You Tube clips of Caleb's Posse. Goddamn does that horse love to come from behind. He and Shackleford race quite a bit and in the Met Mile in May, Caleb's Posse was about 10 lengths off the lead only to streak up to 2nd and finish just behind Shackleford.

CP did a similar thing in April against a similar field but won that race. What a horse.

What do the horsemen here know/think of Caleb's Posse? Or Shackleford for that matter?

1st Jeranimo (9-1)

2nd Suggestive Boy

3rd Little Mike

4th Mr. Commons

Everyone was talking about Little Mike and Mr. Commons, and they came in 3rd, and 4th respectively. It was amazing how Jeranimo came on in the stretch, from last to first.

Once again, stay away from the favorites. I only bet 27 bucks, and I had two 10 cent superfecta bets that were one number off from hitting.

Question: The Superfecta paid out 821.90 on a $1 bet, so does that mean with my 10 cent bet I would have won 82.19?

The next big race will be the Hollywood Gold Cup this Saturday.

Ed, I'm really just starting to get into horse racing, so I'm not up on everything. But I've been reading more and more over the past 2 months.....I'm pretty sure I'll be going out to Arlington for the Arlington Million.

The Firecracker ended up sucking on Sunday night -- that place was super sloppy and everyone was scratching out.

I'm not an expert on the .10c superfecta, but I think they'd round it to the nearest dime... I don't think they deal with nickels and pennies. EDIT: I guess they do after checking the payouts.

Hollywood has a G2 on the 4th, and Calder has a couple of 400k races on Saturday.

The Million is a good time, especially if the weather cooperates.
