As of Friday night, there have been 32,000 bets made on the Bears-Fins game at six offshore books in the Sports Insights consortium. 87% of bets are on the Bears and the line hasn't moved from the open of 13.5. It appears to me that the books are taking a position on Miami. To take that much action and not move the line is unusual. If the Bears cover, the books are going to get raped. And we know that doesn't happen very often. By the way...I believe anything over 75% on one side is a red flag. While this game has no special meaning for the Bears necessarily, this is Miami's "super bowl"....defending the Dolphins of 72 undefeated record and for themselves, beating a good team and dragging themselves out of the "bottom five" of the league, etc. Also...there is a very strong trend/angle relating to teams with very bad records coming off a bye. After listening and reading how bad they are for two weeks, most bad teams seem to come off the bye and cover. Things are shaping up for a bet on the Fins at +14. |

Bears offense looks real good when it starts on the other teams 35 yard line. Even if no scoring, a couple of first downs will give field position. Remember Coach Jauron's words, "It's good to punt the ball." Dolphins offense is a real nice. WR's are good when they catch the ball. Running game no match for the mighty Bear. Harrington won't have time to realize how bad he's playing. Bears defense may score as many points as the Dolphins O. Another overmatched line can't double team two guys on every play. Look for blitz to take away quick slant in three WR packages. Dolphins defense is good when it is on the field less than forty minutes a game. Rex may get touched or even fell on top of by some defenders this game. Grossman pops hammy throwing his forth TD. Benson attempts to show up draft counterpart R. Brown and help the Bears win. Every Sunday I do my own lines for the next weeks games and I had the Bears at 18. For so many to be on the Bears and the line to still be at 13.5-14 seems strange to me. Bears are "due" to play an average game at home. Something tells me Miami's D is gonna be strong tomorrow. Under might be the play in this one. |
