Friday night, I had Missouri +3.5 for the second half. OSU had outscored Mizzou by seven in the second half, and was moving down the field, hoping to punch in the game winning score, which would have sunk my bet. OSU's QB fumbles, and Mizzou runs it back 73 yards to put them up 10, and make the second half score even.

Yesterday, I had the Colts +2, which looked to be toast at halftime. At halftime, I pounded the Colts -6 for the second half, and after Luck's INT early in the third, this bet looked to be sunk as well. We know what happened after that.

This is why you never whine about bad beats. Good beats happen too, but they are often forgotten. Perspective.

I only sports book bet in Vegas, but I agree 100%. I had an over bet on a Pacers game. I was down one with about 10 seconds to go and the outcome decided for the teams. One of the Pacers decides to throw the ball to Reggie Miller with a few seconds to go. All the other players were walking off the court, and Miller decides to just lay it in for no reason. Over pops, and I win.

I played TCU +8 against Texas Tech earlier this year. 7 is usually the number where the coaches will call off the dogs in the remaining seconds, as three possessions are needed. TCU missed a three pointer in the final seconds, down 7. TT rebounds the ball. Most of the players slowly walk off the court, except for two. The guy who rebounded the ball brought the ball up to half court, and threw up an alley-oop which got slammed home just before the buzzer sounded. TT won by 9. I actually was pretty salty about that one, for one evening.

I had under 188 in the Heat game yesterday. The score was 96-83 (179) with 4:12 left, so I turned off the game. The two teams combined for four points in the final 4:12.

Today I missed a Pick 5 at Santa Anita because I didn't include a horse who was 20-1 on the board. Even though I was watching a show where a noted handicapper said a few hours earlier that the 20-1 horse had a shot to win the race. Had I included that horse, I would have won a Pick 5 worth over $1600.

Not whining about it or anything, just that it happens.
