I am going to hang out at OTB late afternoon early evening before Hawks game. Would appreciate if anyone has any can't miss calls on either regular or harness. There are tons of tracks simulcast there so does not matter. Thx.

My favorite track is Santa Anita, and one of my favorite handicappers is Jeff Nahill. He's not afraid to go against the chalk. He's good for calling a double digit long shot at least once it week it seems.

My only gripe is that he does not list the program numbers of the horses, so you have to go through the hassle of looking it up yourself, which is still not bad, but I'm usually looking at his picks at the last minute. Here are his thoughts for today's races.

Quote:
Remember first post is 3 p.m. on Friday.

FIRST RACE: 1. Acute, 2. Summers Dignity, 3. Eltoninadress. LONG SHOT: Lady Vivien.

==

SECOND RACE: 1. Lucky Logan, 2. Big Swag, 3. Show and Tell. LONG SHOT: Keegers.

Trainer Peter Miller is on fire, winning 6-of-13 races last week, and he sends out LUCKY LOGAN, a 2-year-old son of Lucky Pulpit, for the first time here. Miller is 21% with first-time starters and this one has been putting up bullets at San Luis Rey Downs training center. Speed jockey Edwin Maldonado gets on.

==

THIRD RACE: 1. Midnight Mayhem, 2. Yodeling Honey, 3. Stauffenberg. LONG SHOT: End of Time.

==

FOURTH RACE: 1. Gia Is a Bella, 2. Citizen Jane, 3. New Nature. LONG SHOT: Belonging.

==

FIFTH RACE: 1. Fanny Brice, 2. Tribal Peace, 3. I’m No Patsy. LONG SHOT: Divine Way.

==

SIXTH RACE: 1. Hijra, 2. Warren’s Rosebud, 3. Winning Rhythm. LONG SHOT: Nickels Wild.

==

SEVENTH RACE: 1. Big Break (best bet), 2. Lemon de Oro, 3. Innocent Love. LONG SHOT: Miss Radiance.

Trainer Steve Knapp puts blinkers on BIG BREAK, a daughter of Mr. Big, and we have to assume that is the reason for a pair of bullet works since her last race. Jockey Kent Desormeaux jumps on and he has been getting run out of his mounts since returning to SoCal.

==

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Superboot, 2. Itsgettinhotinhere, 3. Red Globe. LONG SHOT: Navarre.

Red-hot trainer Peter Miller sends out another one here. Miller claimed SUPERBOOT, a gelding, last time out and returns him to the grass, where he ran in England. He also moves up in class. There is also a big work showing since his last race.

Oh yeah, and that's 3PM Cali time, which means 5PM Central and 6PM Eastern.

If you're looking for Belmont, check out these links. I can't view these from work for some reason. Something about the New York Daily News website.

The Meadows: First race- Father Patrick would have to break two legs to lose. He will pay $2.10. I don't think you're a huge harness racing fan, but you should watch this race. Father Patrick is a horse for the ages and will probably jog in the Hambletonian later this summer. The Daily Double is 4-3 with Cupcake Hanover on the back end. Probably pays four bucks if you're lucky. Also, Nuncio should roll in the fourth. You may get a price because he is facing an undefeated horse. If he is 3-5 or more it is like stealing.

If you're looking for a longshot, I like Catalyst in the third race at the Meadowlands. It's amateur drivers so who knows what kind of fuckery could occur, but he should be worth a bet at the price.

Race 5 tomorrow at Belmont. Mike Lee Stakes.

http://www.brisnet.com/php/bw_pdf_viewe ... am3=664620

I like the 10 Captain Serious, who is 5/1 on the ML...2 lifetime starts, 2 wins...improved in 2nd start, this race is at 7 furlongs, and his 2 starts were at 6...he was driving during both of his wins, so I don;t see the extra furlong being a problem....I'd probably expect that 5/1 to dip to 9/2 or 7/2 right before they enter the gate.

The favorite will be the 2 Uncle Sigh, who was 14th in the Kentucky Derby. He's dropping in class, which is why he's the 4/5 favorite. Also, he appears to do his best work at shorter distances, which is why he's trying 7 furlongs. A lot of Derby horses end up being champion sprinters (Trinniberg, Goldencents in recent memory), so this may be the route for Uncle Sigh.

Does this count as a >5% return on investment opportunity?

Basically came out even. Most of the tips and rated horses gave such low odds wasn't worth it so took some risks. Catalyst was no one in the finishing picture oh well. The funniest thing was the Father Patrick horse. He was hammered so hard on the word he was great that he went off 1-9 and all the other horses were 99. No one in the place ever saw it and he seemed to win by like half a track. :lol:

Since Uncle Sigh scratched from the race, I guess BRick must've told everyone at Belmont about my pick :lol: :lol: :lol:

He was bet down to 7/5, and blew the field out.....well here's hoping you put more than $2 on him, Brick.

We got there for the 4th race, so I threw down a little on the 4th and then prepared for that one with a bigger bet on Captain Serious for the next. Then all of a sudden he's 3 to 2 but he dominated the field so it was still a really good pick. Thanks!

The exacta I hit later on made up for it though. A friend who had never even been to a horse track copied my bet on that one too so I looked like a genius. Someone even asked my wife "Does he come here a lot?" :lol:
