The budget method isn't a bad idea. I always thought the best way to do it was by units (that way people could play dogs on the ML), though that is probably a big pain in the ass to keep track of. Plus, I noticed a few people throwing out teasers. 6, 6.5, and 7 pt teasers pay out differently (typically, a 6 point teaser on 2 teams has the same vig as a single straight bet). If you were to open it up a bit, I still think you'd need to have some rules in place. Otherwise, you'd have clowns playing all sorts of ridiculous 7-team parlays and 5 star bets at the end trying to play catch up, and that's not really fair to the guys that earned a spot at the top the hard way.
There will be many people weeded out well before the end of the season under my proposal. If we have a set dollar amount, once you reach zero, you are finished.
I will be all in on the Kickoff Classic and a preseason game I have had my eye on for a while.
