I'm sorry I didn't see spmack's tweet sooner. Maybe I could have saved him some money. Come on, Camps! I know I told you earlier this year that my business associates owned this horse that was a complete killer. How could you go with the 11 horse against No Nay Never in that 5-1/2 furlong turf sprint? 2/1 on him was like stealing. I almost couldn't believe it. This horse is likely to win a Breeder's Cup race. I'm just not sure if they have enough time to get him there. His optimum race is probably a mile on the turf, but maybe they'll go in the turf sprint. Obviously, he's had some physical issues this year, but this is one badass animal.
Carpe Diem looked like he was worth every penny of the $1.6 million Stonestreet and Winstar gave for him. May, 2015 is a long way off, but if Pletcher can keep him in one piece, this guy should be a player.
Finally, there is a Niles OTB regular named Tuna. I actually thought he had been barred from the place. Maybe he was since I hadn't seen him in a long time, but whatever, they allowed him back in. This sonofabitch drinks white wine by the gallon. Seriously, he must have gone through four bottles. He's kind of annoying to begin with, but when he gets loaded he gets really obnoxious. So he's ranting and raving like a loon, bothering all the other patrons. My guy, Fritzy had just lost a $1500 win bet on a 3/1 shot right at the wire. Fritzy can get kind of loud himself. Now he was steaming and this Tuna character is pissing him off more and more. Tuna heads off to the bathroom and Fritzy grabs a bottle of Tabasco and pours about half of it in Tuna's wine glass. This dummy is so wasted he doesn't even notice the color. He comes back and takes a big gulp from the glass, gets a weird look on his face, and runs back to the bathroom.
Everybody in the place is laughing his ass off.
