I know its the end of January, but we always seem to come up with these ideas and then its too late to get a good group of people going. How many of you guys do March Madness pools? Anyone interested in doing one for the board? I'd be more than happy setting it up. Let me know. We can use cbs.sportsline. They do a great job of live scoring for free.

This will be the first year since '03 that I haven't been in Vegas for the first round. :(

It's good to see you've given up hope on the Super Bowl and are moving on, Ryan.

Like I said, I'd be more than happy running this. I've been running these (along with numerous fantasy leagues) for about 10 years. I know you don't like CBS Nas, but their live scoring is quicker than Yahoo's. I'd be willing to go either way. I think BF's suggestion of 30 dollars is fitting.. Do we allow more than one bracket? I want this to be huge. Also, how many place deep do you guys want to go? I'm fine with just a first and second. Second place receiving just half of what first got. Keep the suggestions coming. Let's have all the ground rules and roster of players set far in advance. Please include any friends you guys may have as well.

Also again, what do you think about multiple sheets? I'm slightly not for it, but whatever.

$30 sounds reasonable, and I have no issues with mutliple entries.

In the past I've done small payouts (5%) to the leader at the end of each of the first 2 rounds to spice it up.

Rob, I think that'd be fun. Definitely something the masses need to think about. I could warm up to some ideas like that.

single entries only....
doesn't matter who/where.
and the first saturday should be a CSFMB Meeting....

Doug, now thats a really good idea. It'd be a fun day to do something like that while at the same time people could mingle and not be so concerned with what was on TV. Who would want to actually mingle throughout the Bears game? This would work much better anyway.

You in Doug?

There were a lot of people playing in both leagues this year that didn't pay.

I'll cop to welching on the FF. I apologi.
How much do I owe EG Greg for winning the Yahoo league?

Count me in for the NCAA tourney. Pick a location soon (rosemont, downtown, north side?)so everyone has a month to come up with an excuse, ERR, time to plan and arrange travel and coin to make the tourney meetup.

$30 is fine. I would prefer one bracket entry but if it wouldn't be the end of the world if people wanted more. I will probably be out of town for that first weekend of the tourney.

I'd be in for $30 and would prefer only one entry per person. For those that don't know me very well, this means I'm just donating $30 to one of you. I'm terrible with brackets. I'd also be down to meet up in the first round. Would prefer the city but would go anywhere not too far.

Yeah Shoeless Joe's was pretty good. Hell, I still have my debit card there from the remote. I'll need to pick that up some time... A friend of mine is the GM at Redmonds on the north side so he could probably save us some good tables for that day. There's also a place called Players in my neighborhood that's pretty big and usually dead so it might not be a madhouse like Joe's is that time of year.

I'm going to put up a running list of people that want in. I will need e-mail addresses from entrants. There will then be a mass e-mail sent to everyone as soon as the Tournament Show ends. At that time you will be able to make you picks and edit your picks up until the first game on Thursday. I think to keep integrity in this pool I will need the money before Thursday's games begin. My bracket is not changeable either and can be viewed by anyone on the site. It would be good if Coast could print my picks off on Thursday and hold on to it. When I run these pools I make sure everyone knows who I have. Nothing worse than a guy running a pool who gets a "place" but no one ever saw his pick sheet.

Ok, Ryan. Sounds good. By the way, anyone can go to ncaasports.com/mmod now and sign up for free online streaming coverage of March Madness. It's free now, but will cost you if you wait much longer. I got this last year and it's nice being able to watch all of the games on your puter....especially if you know you're going to be on the road or don't have direct tv to buy the tv package.

Coast and I have emailed a little bit back and forth on this. I compiling emails and a list of who is in. Again, spread the word, get friends in. Once we get an idea how many people are in, we'll decide how many places to go in this. Money will have to be in my hands by the time the first game starts. I thought I'd get that info out now.

I'm hoping I get can 50 people rounded up for this. I think we can do it.

Didn't know this was going on, but I pm'd Ryan that I'd be in. Can't do an outing that first weekend, that's when I hope to be moving stuff into the condo I bought (f'in sellers made me move my close date up from March 23rd, which was picked DELIBERATELY because of the tourney, to March 9th).
