I'm sure there is another thread for this but I'm too busy reading the Cubs/Sox stuff.

What site is best for these new one week fantasy leagues? I know bigfan has done a draftkings one for lesser sports but now we are in the real sports season.

Draftkings? Fanduel? Yahoo?

They are all the same....Draftkings will offer you the most options...

$1 head to head or $1 in a 100,000 person league....etc.

but they all work on the same theory of a salary cap, everyone has a salary, pick your guys.

I play in the 50/50 leagues. 5,000 people in the league, entry $10 or $20...and the top 2500 win....2500 lose.

Then I play 1 or 2 entries in the Mill$ games for $2 or $3.....really dont expect to win those, its close to buying a lottery ticket. The difference between 1st and 100th is usually so little, you almost need a perfect entry...

funny thing about this MORAL and LEGALLY approved "Game of Skill" but I think this shit is actually worse than straight up wagering on a game....kids are doing this at an amazing rate....its like they approved heroin in small doses only!

Every commercial on the Score is for one of these sites.

Draftkings is awesome.

I still don't understand why this is considered legal and just picking a real NFL team to beat another NFL team is considered gambling. Would be interested to see how this is taxed (if at all?) and how quickly this will get shut down. As I seem to remember, it was only about two or three years of the poker boom before they shut all that stuff down (to the casual player.)

And these games where they have 100k entries and pay out the top 100 or whatever -- you need to not pick safe players. You want some, but you really have to go out on a limb and hope to strike it rich just to get in the top. To me, that's the "skill" of picking a player likely to out perform, much as when I pick the Packers to cover by more than 7, that is a "skill" expecting them to outperform.

DraftKing and FanDuel are basically the same. They are GREAT for small-time players like myself.

I put $20 into FanDuel last year, still haven't replenished...but I am content playing $1-$2 games.....maybe get crazy and play $5 if my account is stacked (meaning anywhere above even).

I just like to see how I do. I think I have $6 still in my account after playing 2 $1 games so far this week. And I'm coming up on a year.

They'd have to shut down all fantasy football though, and that isn't ever going to happen.

If anything, just like medicinal marijuana, this is a gateway to full legalization.
