Running gets a thread, losing weight gets a thread, weightlifting deserves a thread. Unless I'm the only one who lifts here, in that case it doesn't.

Been back on the lifting wagon for about a month now and fully liberated from DOMS, which is by the worst part. There's no excuse to not be lifting weights guys! (unless you really dont want to)

I'll jump in the tub with ya....bout to get back into it full steam...bought a house and lived with a hell cat ex-fiancé in 2015, dedicated time to other things....mornings will now be spent throwing iron around in the gym...

Once you get a few days under your belt, the 7AM gym sessions are VERY addicting...

I lifted for years before taking about 4 years off.

"Back on the lifting wagon" implies I was on it to begin w/. l2read.

I prefer the night, between 11 PM and midnight. Gym's nearly empty and the kind of person who does barbell curls in the squat rack is long gone.

I'm picking up my old routine, which is basically deadlifts all the time. See if I can keep up.

Might try lifting weights again now that swimming has given me a bit of upper-body strength, finally. Never liked it, never liked gyms.

Deadlifts bring you closer to god.

Really if you want to just get into weightlifting to build functional strength and look a little bigger all you need is back squats, deadlifts, bench and overhead press. I do a few extras like power cleans, incline bench, some lat excersises, lunges, skulls/bicurls (when nobodies looking) etc. but I just do those because I want to life more after 5x5's of OHP and bench.

You can build a huge amount of functional strength in a short period of time going to gym 3 times a week for less than a half hour by just doing those 4 exercises.
