Weather ended up being more mild than I thought due to no wind but I stayed home and got some projects done instead. Going to try to get out for at least 9 the next two days after work.

Mt. Prospect closed their facilities. My sanity could do with some chipping and putting practice.

Got word before tee off we have a confirmed case in Kenosha County. I played 9 and packed it in. Could have done 9 more but just figured I better go home. Still have us going to the office this week. We will see how long that lasts.

Kenosha County courses closed starting tomorrow. I walked 18 this afternoon. Gonna miss golf this spring that is for sure.

Closing courses makes no sense to me. It's outside and played in groups of no more than 4 who can easily stay 6' away from each other.

Yeah, close the bar/grill and manage pro shop traffic, but come the fuck on.

Exactly. Move a cash register outside to collect greens fees. No need to even go inside.

Have gotten emails from several courses that say this is exactly what is going on. They're offering bag lunches to go as well.

The furthest one has gone is a 9-hole course is allowing walking and only one Rider per cart

I think my courses are closed because they are part of the county. I know there are places that will likely be open you just have to find them.

Doesn't really matter much looking at the 10 day forecast.

Well. This is going to be a much shorter thread this year. Hopefully by mid-april we can get out again.

Outdoor recreation areas are exempt from the order, so maybe not all courses will close. My course is opening (no pro shop) with the following caveats that were emailed today:

• · All bunker rakes have been removed.
• · Ball washers will be bagged and taped shut, do no use.
• · Practice facility putting green flagsticks have been removed.
• · Keep the flagstick in the hole while putting, do not touch.
• · We will be implementing a putting green cup strategy. A pool noodle will wrap the flag pole in the cup to avoid touching.
• · Single riders (private carts only)
• · We would encourage walking as much as possible.

For days when you are developing “cabin fever” consider walking or playing a few holes. You can take a handful of clubs rather than a full bag.

I cancelled plans to play this weekend as it’s cold today and $30 seems frivolous to play tomorrow. I blew that money on beer instead. I will play in the future if the weather shapes up.

Governor Evers shut down all golf in Wisconsin until April 24th. Really thought he would leave them open. Might be playing in Illinois sooner than up here if the weather is good.

I bought a push cart over the weekend and am playing tomorrow. Highly doubt I'll be able to walk 18 holes. My course has a pretty good 6 hole loop so I'll probably start with that and work my way up.

Barry Rozner posted on Facebook late last night Thst courses are open to allow players in IL but you need to pay online, clubhouses not open and it’s walking only. I haven’t found any articles on this but I haven’t looked very hard.

Got an email from Carriage Greens in Darien that they were opening up today.

Edit; I've since gotten 3 more emails that courses will be open, walking only, with the clubhouse closed. The cup will be left about 1/2" above the hole, and if you hit the cup you've holed out so you don't have to touch the flagstick.

Every state that I have seen is allowing it, except for the piece of shit that governs the state of Wisconsin.

The IPGA reached out to the Governor's office for clarification on his order they said it's okay to play. Like others said walking only.

Huge.

This weekend looks pretty wet, but I will definitely be looking to play in April. Nice timing with me getting a new push cart and planning to walk more this season.

I might try to play Sunday if there is a window of dry. Now I’m working from home I have flexibility to play during the week if weather looks good and just work early and later.

Might play Shepherds Crook this morning if they are open. Rain doesn’t come until early afternoon and this weekend looks like a washout. I could really use the time out there. My wife and I worked under the same roof for the first day yesterday and it wasn’t pretty by the end.

I’ve called five courses and only had one that answered and they are booked until late morning. They were booking tee times every 20 minutes. I’ll keep trying but if I can’t tee off by 10 it won’t be worth getting rained on. Bittersweet in Gurnee was open but nothing available until after 11. $35 to walk seemed a bit high for March as well.

That's bullshit. Walked 9 yesterday with a friend. We didn't come within 10 feet of each other the whole time. No bunker rakes, ball washers, and the holes were filled with some sponge thing so there was no need to touch anything.

But lets keep vape shops open! I guarantee if there was an excise tax on golf like there is a liquor and cigarettes, courses would be staying open.
