I wouldn't say Scheffler was entirely innocent, but it looks like the cop recklessly threw himself in front of a moving car.

The other question is was the car marked as a PGA car in any way. Valhalla and the Police Department should have had some awareness that there would be a player needing to get into the course.

The reports are that he was indeed driving a PGA marked car, and had his credentials out.

This was a giant clusterfuck by all involved. PGA and the police should have communicated because with all of the players, coaches, caddies, and trainers needing to get on to the grounds, there should have been a plan in place for the 200+ credentialed people to get themselves on the property in the morning.

My guess is that the Valhalla Golf Club is not likely to host any (L)PGA events in the near future.

All player cars are marked at all PGA tour events, there are PGA emblems on the doors.
