Here is a article on Chambers Bay and it gets ripped pretty good along with USGA. Why in the hell would they do this to tee boxes is beyond me, I hope the USGA listens:

What a surprise, Ian Poulter doesn't like it. Everybody plays on the same course.

Well in fairness he wasn't the only one, but why put a tee box on a upslope or downslope. That is Caddyshack 2 bullshit.

Thinking about grabbing a used Taylormade hybrid to mess with. What is the most useful loft in your guys opinion on a hybrid? Keep in mind I never use a 2 or 3 iron.

I just read what irons hybrids compare to, not sure if this will help:

17 degree/ 5 wood
19 degree/ 2 iron
21 degree/3 iron
24 degree/ 4 iron
27 degree/ 5 iron

84-74 today. Teed off at 7:30 and wrapped up at 1:15. Walking 36 holes in 6 hours was a challenge. Off to bed so I can mess with shakes tomorrow morning.

Couldn't have had a much nicer day for golf than Saturday. Shepherds Crook is a legit tough course and I recommend it for anyone looking to play
in the far north burbs. Wind kicked up at times and greens were tough. Our team managed to shoot -12 (59) and lost by two shots. We blew a
couple of makeable putts and started the tournament with 3 pars so that kept us out of it.

I'll echo what Tbone said about Shepherd's Crook. Love that course. Our team didn't do as well as Tbone's, finished 4 under, but we had a great time and I didn't expect us to do much better than that since I was our top guy and two of our players were playing for the first time since last year. But, I played well...I probably accounted for 70% of our shots that we used.

Played another one of my favorites yesterday, Balmoral Woods. Played great again, 44-39-83. Easily my best score ever there. My previous scores there had been 100, 97, 99, 96 and 89. Course is really tough and yesterday there were gusting winds which didn't make it easier. Course in great shape, greens running very fast considering they had recently been aerated and sanded. But, I also ended up above the hole on several which is a big no no at BW. I missed 4-5 putts by an inch which is too bad cause I was striking the ball well enough to break 80. Very consistent all day, only one double, but only one birdie. 3 3 puts. Driving continues to be better than ever, hit 10/12 fairways with the driver. 8 GIRs on the day. Iron play starting to come around as well, hitting some very nice drawing irons..need to learn to trust it cause I started a couple too far to the left instead of putting them out to the right and letting them draw in.

Thanks. I do like the Taylormade stuff. Just got my son a used set of Burner clubs graphite woods and steel irons for $35 at garage sale.

Yeah they are old but fine for him. Caught the guy at closing of the sale. Guess he didn't want to put them away again.

Blackstone Creek, it is right in Germantown. We were going to play 18 but Jr. went over to a buddies house to watch the fight and didn't get home until almost 1. I didn't figure him to be up for 18, I was right.

giving be trouble this year. I think I will this weekend.

Played 9 after work and used my old Mizunos irons and they felt pretty good. Finished birdie-eagle for a 38.

You golfing today? I think it is going to be ok until later this afternoon. If so, where are you playing?

I have a 6am tee time tomorrow morning which I think will be dry enough to play and then that will likely be it for the golf this weekend.

I'm playing Mizuno irons from 2006 and not changing anytime soon.

Who is up for playing a week from Saturday?

Got out early yesterday. A little windy but warm enough for shorts. Bogeyed two par 5's and topped a drive. Highlights were two sand saves which has been a weak point this season. Carded a 75 so quite happy with that all things considered.

I'd hang the sticks up for the year if I put that on the board.
