Missed a 4 footer, costing me back-to-back birdies.

Embarassing.

39 on the front. 5/7 fairways, 6/9 GIR, 17 putts.

Ballstriking is solid. Putting stinks.

Pace of play slowing. Furious is not amused.

Possibly my best ball striking round ever. Putting continues to stink.

39/42/81, 9/14 fairways, 11/18 GIR, 35 putts.

Definitely my best ballstriking round ever. Every full swing was hit flush, no bullshit. Putting was pretty rough. Greens were super-fast, along with some really tricky pin placements. Course was in phenomenal shape.

Seems like I'm picking up 1/2 to a full club in distance with my irons lately. I'm standing a bit further from the ball, so I think my swing arc has increased. Plus, I have been wearing these spikeless golf shoes that look like running shoes and my balance is really good for some reason. Maybe it's the lack of a raised heel like traditional golf shoes.

Then again, maybe it's the lesson Mr. Miyagi in a beekeeper hat gave me.

Nice shooting Furious! That is a challenging course, played out there probably 50 times. My last three rounds have been easily the
best 3 of my season thus far. Finally starting to get the swing grooved. I stopped trying to work the ball and just went back to my
dependable right to left ball flight. Getting my wedges and yardages dialed in from 150 and in which is giving me many more legit
looks at birdie. Hitting more fairways and my short game has been pretty good the last three rounds. I've gotten up and down 9 of
12 times and knocked in 7 birdies. If I wouldn't have missed two putts inside 4 feet yesterday there would have been a pretty decent
chance at breaking par for the day. I get to golf once down in Charlotte this week with my old Mizuno MP-33's and backup set of
woods and wedges. Hopefully it is a good time. My dad really wants to try to play and has been swinging his club trying to limber up
but he says his back is really hurting. He might just be chipping and putting.

Furious getting ready to carry Don and I are the Jorr Invitational in a few weeks!

Seems like everybody has some positive news. I shot 48-43 for a 91, my best round of the year, at Coyote Run on Saturday. It didn't start off so hot as I tripled #2, doubled #3, 3 putt bogeyed #4, and put up an 8 on #5. Pulled my head out of my ass and went par, birdie, then had all single bogeys and pars until an ugly 7 on #17. Was not very good with my irons and pushed several drives right, but poor recovery shots got my into even more trouble. Didn't putt all that well, but saved a few strokes with chips and pitches. 80's have been non-existent for me this season and even low 90s have been pretty elusive, so I was happy to string together about 10-11 good holes and finish with a nice score on the back 9.

I played in another tournament this weekend. First day 87 - 5 dumb shots cost me big time. Rallied on day two with a 74. Made a charge up the B-flight leaderboard!

My buddy shot 69-70 to finish one stroke out of the playoff. He missed a 6 inch putt on 18 but still had the clubhouse lead. A couple college golfers were still out there and had made the turn at 3 and 4 under respectively. That helped him calm down a bit figuring he would finish 2 or 3 back...that is until they both came in at 138. Twenty years ago he would have snapped every club in his bag, but he took it in stride and had a good laugh after the initial anger wore off.

Frustrating when you shoot yourself out of a nice finish the first day or first few holes. I've done that many times, especially recently. Nice job
bouncing back with a very solid round!

went to the range Saturday. Started ok, but shanks came back within 5 swings. Broke my 8 iron in half and called it a day.

Got a lesson with Todd Sones the really expensive guy set up for Saturday. Need to get fixed by 8/9 golf trip, would suck to have yet another golf trip ruined by shanks.

If he doesn't fix me I'm gonna put the clubs away for the year and maybe try again next year, maybe not though. Literally the only reason I haven't already quit golf is because I don't want to lose all my golf friendships. Some of my buddies, only time I see them these days is when we get together for golf trips. I've already lost more friends than I can count when I had to quit basketball and then hockey.

A nice warm up round for the golf trip would be Sunday 8/4 at Old Orchard...

Snap out of it, shakes.

Your swing was fine when I played with you. Stand a bit further from the ball. Problem solved.

My PGA pro buddy Tim Jankowski was part of the Todd Sones teaching tree.

Played 27 at Galena Golf Club on Friday. It was hot as balls. I shot a 48 on the front 9. We then replayed the front (51) and then the back (54). Not terrible for me considering my length, the elevation changes, and the fact that it was 95 degrees on the course. There were gnats everywhere. In your eyes, ears, nose. It was horrible.

We then played the General at Eagle Ridge on Saturday. That much a much nicer experience overall although we almost flipped the cart coming down the switchback on hole 14. I'm not sure what I shot on Saturday b/c we had a match play on the front 9 and then head to head on the back. 16 guys went and my team of 8 won our "tournament." After 3 years, my name is on the trophy.

I am pretty certain that I am going to get new clubs before the summer is up. I'm certain I am at a disadvantage from a technology standpoint. Tim (mentioned above) already measured me and can get me a deal at the club he teaches at in Naples, FL. So, I think I am going to pull the trigger.

What’d you shoot on the remaining 8 holes?

Went out and played after work and the golf course was empty. Made it around in 2:15 and that was while checking work emails as I played. Shot a 78 (38-40). One double (3 putt) and two birdies, pars and bogeys scattered in between. Can't post it though because I played by myself. Even when I play by myself I play by the rules, but the USGA says I can't post my score. I'll enjoy the strokes I get in handicapped events with an inflated handicap while knowing I'm not a sandbagger. Thanks USGA (I hate you so much)!

Played 27 holes yesterday at a par 66 course. Shot 44 - 43 - 40. Very meh. My putting was pretty atrocious.

I was invited to play in a group of guys the first week in August. Haven't played in like 5 years. Going out to our local 9 hole course tomorrow to play. Hopefully things will come back quickly.

Played last Thursday in NC at a private course my dad was invited to by his neighbor. Nice track and we had a nice time. I fully expected him
to only be able to chip and putt but he teed it up and played the whole course from the senior tees. I was impressed. He shot a 104 which was
not good for him but he was in a lot of pain and really tired by the end. He struggled on the greens all day long but had a putt for par on the
last hole from about 20 ft. I think we were all praying it would go in since there was a good chance this would be the last time he'd ever play.
He drained it dead center and I honestly believe that my brother helped guide it in from above, as we spread his ashes later that evening. Pretty
cool moment.

Played the par 70 course in my rotation yesterday and my buddy and I took on two other guys for $20. I shot a 76 but couldn't chip and putt
at all. The guys we played shot 68 and 69 respectively so needless to say we lost the bet and were lucky to only lose that much. Hoping to get
out early in the morning this week before work at least once.

Good stuff, Tbone. Regardless of what happens in the future, you guys will always have that memory. And it doesn't matter if its for a 104 or a 65, ending the round-- and perhaps your golf career-- with a par is a good thing.

Lesson with Sones went very well. Turns out my new half swing I've been doing to alleviate back pain is actually worse for my back and my swing. Been bringing the club behind me and then having to make an exaggerated move with my body to get the club back to square. When body breaks down that move no longer works and the hozzle leads.

He gave me a new swing where I still don't really move my body much, but now he has me lifting the club straight up as opposed to behind me. Has me further away from the ball and now on my toes instead of my heels. Fixed me right away on the range.

Decided to put it to practice and drove over to Steeple Chase. The Saturday weather scared everyone away and I teed off at 11:45 and was done before 2:15. Can't beat that on a weekend. Shanks were still there at the beginning as I worked on the swing, but by hole 7 I didn't have any more. Took me a few more holes to figure out how to hit a hybrid, but got the hang of that as well by the end. Shot a 41 on the back, very happy about that.

Need to kick it into over drive and get a lot of practice in with big golf trip coming up 8/9.

Awesome story about your pops, T-Bone.

Nice shooting on the back at Steeple Chase, shakes.I love that course.

43/41/84 at Mt. Prospect yesterday. Pace of play was a bit slow and the course was pretty soaked with no roll out.

Had to play in traditional golf shoes. Felt like my feet were too fixed in place and I couldn't push off my toes like my last round in spikeless running-type shoes. Weird how I used to like how these shoes kept my feet anchored in place. I need to see what Bubba and his happy feet wear in the rain.

Had a 20 ft. putt for eagle on the 480 yd par 5. Lasered a 3 wood 225 to the back tier of the green. Proceeded to 3-putt for a par.

Was in jail on a kidney-shaped green after my approach shot just missed the upper tier and rolled back. Knocked a 15 yd. pitch from the green w/my 58* wedge to 4 ft. and made the par. Perfect contact and zero damage to the green. That almost made up for the missed eagle.

Played 9 holes tonight. We scrambled so didn't get a true gauge of where things stand. But all in all I hit the ball about as well I could expect after not playing for so many years. My first drive was just about perfect. Hit it over some water and put in perfectly in the fairway. The rest of my drives were not perfect, but I only really mishit one bad. Irons were up and down. Hit a nice 5 iron onto the green that led to a birdie for our group. The biggest surprise was my chipping. Actually used more of my chips that I would have dreamed. Putting was atrocious. Couldnt get close. Definitely enjoyed it.

If you have golfed before, putting and chipping will get there. Just takes some time and practice.

I am a member of the Wisconsin State Golf Association. As a member I keep a handicap and can sign up for golf tournaments, etc... I just
like to support the organization. Anyway, they publish a monthly online magazine and each month they usually have a giveaway of new shoes,
clubs, range finders, etc.... I sign up as an after thought but never think I will win. I just got notification that I just won a brand new Taylor
Made Spider Mini putter. Not exactly sure what color it will be, and I doubt I will use it, but pretty pumped I won. It's a $300 flat stick.
