An ACE when it's a 200 yard par 4 isn't that impressive

 I saw Fowler hit one in the hole on a 216 yard par 3.

I thought two under par on a hole was an eaglo?

I guess technically you could call it an eagle at -2 but par 3's are generally thought of as holes in one. You wouldn't see a par 4 under 300 in most PGA Tour stops.

Riviera should be fun this week and rooting for Tiger to make the weekend somehow.

On a side note I read a brief article that all of the CW network affiliates are not falling into line with the LIV Golf programming. Apparently it is on a station to station basis if they want to broadcast. I checked my local CW for golf coverage and saw none. Also did a search on my cable system and there is no LIV Golf for me in Wisconsin.

Excerpt from the article....

Well this is something: the 2023 LIV Golf League season will air in 100 percent of the country. The network made it official today by announcing the first official full season of the Saudi-backed golf will air on some CW stations and on Nexstar owned and operated stations in key markets including Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Tampa and Hartford.

Not all the CW stations are on board, as they aren’t contractually obligated to air daytime programming. Eight CBS owned stations that carry CW, for example, passed on LIV – no doubt because CBS has a long-standing relationship with the PGA Tour.

The Big Cat's swing looked pretty good today. His chipping was off and cost him a of couple strokes. Birdied the last three holes to finish at -2. Hope his leg holds up tomorrow and he can make the weekend.

Definitely looked like someone that hasn't played/practices much. The problem is, with the health issues he seems destined to always have, he'll never be able to play/practice enough to actually compete. He still spikes the ratings, but it would be nice to think he could win, not just to have the "yay, Tiger is playing" moments. I streamed his round yesterday on my phone at work. The flip side is, I watched maybe 30 minutes of Phoenix last week, and most of that was to show my daughter the setup on 16.

I think Tiger can practice quite a bit, and he plays...but uses a cart. He's said himself that while he can't outdrive everyone like he used to, he can still hit any shot he wants. Its the walking 4-5 miles a day in a tournament that does him in. My guess is he'll play decently again today, then have leg issues tomorrow and limp- literally- to a mediocre at best finish Sunday.

He apparently outdrove Rory and JT at least once if not a few times yesterday. Now this is GOAT trash talking here..... He'll likely be in trouble for a few days from the woke crowd

 I have one in my golf bag because they can stop nosebleeds and help with other cuts. As you know, sometimes you can be half a mile from the clubhouse at times. I think RFDC has mentioned he has used or seen them used before in tennis and basketball.

Maybe he's playing and practicing more than I thought, but he's still hitting occasional shots that don't look any different than a 12 handicapper on the weekend.... Just had about 120, from the fairway, and chunked it about 90 yards.

I've been told for a few years now that men can have babies and menstruate. Maybe JT really needed one. I don't understand what the big deal is?

Men can use them now. That's why they are in our bathrooms. No one should be mad about this.

Does hearing about Tiger’s tampon trick mean a young female athlete coming out of college won’t try golf? That notion might be a bit extreme, but let’s put it this way: when the biggest name in the sport’s history is giddily spreading misogyny down the fairway, it might just confirm a woman’s suspicions about golf and send her to any one of the scores of other sports she can play for the rest of her life without running into a dude playing a juvenile tampon joke.

I hope she's right. Nothing worse than getting stuck behind a group of women on the golf course. Tiger did us all a favor.

Yes, they are a must to have in any sports med kits. They help nosebleeds a lot.

I missed some this weekend. Why did they have groups of three today? Mitchell looked so out of place after he fell off.

Things were looking good for Homa around the turn and then had an errant tee shot that cost him and Rahm made a couple incredible birdies to pull away. Good tournament. Rahmbo is the best player right now.

 I find this all quite funny. What will be interesting is if the LIV will have to pay CW to cover their events. My guess is yes at this point.
CW airing a third of the LIV tournaments on tape delay like its the 1980s.

In the first year of LIV’s television deal with the CW, Saturday and Sunday broadcasts of the Saudi-backed upstart league’s international events will air in the U.S. on tape delay, a spokeswoman confirmed to GOLF.

The international events, which represent roughly one-third of LIV’s 2023 schedule, will air on weekends from 1-6 p.m. ET on the CW, irrespective of the tournament’s actual start or end time. Those who wish to watch the action live will be directed to the CW app, which will stream the tournaments live for viewers.

Tried watching this a bit yesterday but there is really no one interesting on the leaderboard. If it’s close on the back nine I may tune in. Non-elevated events just aren’t as good.

Turned out to be an exciting ending. I only caught the last couple holes and the playoff, but it was a fun finish to watch.
