Standard awful front 9 46 followed by the Standard great back nine 42.

Playing 72 holes this weekend in the Irish Hills of Michigan. 36 at Calderone Farms and 36 at The Grande. Saturday night in East Lansing possibly drinking w/ my buddy's college-age kids. I'm sure they will love that.

That is an interesting course. Nothing like starting off with a 100 yard, par three, island green. Too often, I found myself in between clubs. There are way too many forced layups. I think there are six par 3's. There is a long par 5 on the back, which often plays into the wind.

This course is built in a housing community. The MILFs are out in full force, pushing strollers, and jogging through the neighborhood. We call this place MILFWOOD.

Got an invite to golf tomorrow afternoon free with a supplier at Stonewall Orchard but had to turn it down. I'll be out of the office
Thursday and Friday and no way I could take more time this week. Still haven't played there and have always been curious
after hearing so many mixed reviews.

Supplier golf is not vacation, it is negotiating. :D

Not my supplier..... I was asked if I could "slip out" of work and meet up with them. I could use a half day of vacation but then I'd be missing half the week
and playing catch up for the forseeable future. The old T-Bone a few years ago would have disappeared from work and played without taking vacation no questions
asked.

Outstanding summary.

Hadn't hit a ball in two weeks and realized I left my 52 degree at home that day. Definitely a challenging first even considering the length. Had to hit a knockdown 46 degree straight into that 20 mph wind. Cleared the water by 5 yards tops

Tell your supplier October 14th is my birthday.

Where the hell is shakes? I want to hear about his Wolf Run experience.

I think he might be in traction. Well either that or he actually had to show up to court this week.

Got back from my golf trip Sunday night. Amazing time, but I overdid it and paid the price with my back. Drove to Indy Thursday and played Wolf Run. Amazing course! Lives up to the hype as the 21st hardest course in the USA. before the round the guy in the pro shop said he would pay for our round if either of us broke 90. Well, I shot an 89 and my friend shot a 78, but we didn't hold the guy to it. What made the course so hard is that there were maybe 2-3 places on the entire course where you could bail out safely.

Later that night our other two friends arrived from Orlando and we set off to play the Fort first thing Friday morning. No time for the range and had to play it from 6700 yards, well out of my comfort zone, but played really well and shot an 84. Another gem of a course. Lots of elevation changes and trouble on either side of the fairway. For $70 full fare it was a steal by Chicago price standards.

Then hopped in the mini van and drove 2.5 hours in the rain to French Lick. Got out of the car and played 18 at twilight at the Donald Ross course. This is where things started going downhill rapidly for me. First shank of the weekend showed up at #11 and from there it was a slippery slope. Too tired, too much golf and couldn't stop myself from lunging at the ball. Course was great though, lots of room off the tee, but those greens were about as tricky as they come. If you were above the hole good luck. I limped my way to a 91.

Next morning, another bright and early tee time with no range session, once again at the Donald Ross course. FYI< there is no range at this course. Back was a mess and shanked the ball 9 times, finished with a 90.

Then, hopped in the car and drove 40 minutes to Sultan's Run. Loved this course. Tons of elevation changes carved out of the forest. Holes were framed beautifully. manged to make it to hole 7 before the back gave out. Still shot a 42 on the front, but then shankfest started on the back and went for a 48 and a 90 total.

Next morning was the main event. 7:30 tee time at Pete Dye course. Been looking forward to this for several months. First on the course. Got there at 6:45. Went to the range to try and loosen up. Shanked 10 straight wedges, went back to clubhouse got my $350 back and then went back to the hotel and went to bed for 2 hours while my buddies played the course.

Overall, great trip hanging with my buddies, but I overdid it and paid the price. Learned a valuable lesson...I can't drive hours upon hours, get next to no sleep and then go play golf all day. This will be the last time I try to cram 36 holes into a day.

As for the resort, the customer service was terrible at times, they screwed up our reservation and we had to move rooms every night. The courses are nice, but not sure I would make the drive down there. But, then again, I missed the Dye course so maybe that alone makes it worth it.

That's a lot of golf for a person with a good back, let alone yours. Sorry to hear that you missed the Pete Dye course, I guess I hadn't picked up on that via Facebook.

Went to the BMW on Thursday. It had been 10 years since I was at a PGA Tour event. I thought it was ok. We were able to gain
access to the BMW Pavilion since we knew someone that owns one. Sat near the great at 16 for a few hours and then walked
around a bit. Saw Dustin Johnson, Spieth, Day, Fowler, Poulter, Zach Johnson and Mickelson just to name a few. My wife enjoyed
going which surprised me.

Going to get out tonight after work. I have a two day golf event this weekend and haven't played for almost two weeks. Probably go to Pine Meadow for
a practice session on Thursday evening. I am enjoying the golf after work now that the leagues are over.

I drank copious amounts of Oberon last weekend. My iron play was horrible - taking my irons in to see if my lie angles can be adjusted. Mizunos tend to be flatter anyway and I need a few degrees upright. Nice to know that my rain gear is truly waterproof. New putter is a better fit.

I can't stand the volunteer cell phone nazis at these events. Where they find these armies of ornery old fucks to run people down for even carrying a cell phone outside of their pockets I don't know.

My wife took quite a few pics and didn't get in any trouble but you have to be pretty slick about it. Never ceases to amaze me how attached to their phones people are.
You ask someone to not look at their phone for one afternoon and it is like you took their blanky away from them. I'd be totally fine not checking my phone for a week.
No one calls me anyway. :)

Hit the ball poorly but scored well. I had 7 one putts on 16 holes. I ended up walking off the course with two holes to play ( both par 5s ).
I played the back nine in one hour walking and had a feeling the front would be slow but how bad could it be? There was a two some in
front of me and a fivesome in front of them so I knew I wasn't going anywhere quickly. I watched the guys ahead of me tee off on every
single hole and they never asked once for me to join which I thought was strange so I was laying back on my own. It was 2 hours and 20
minutes into the front nine when I holed out on number 7. I figured another 45 minutes to play the last two par 5s so I walked off to my
car. I was one over par.

There is a distinct possibility I can do this.

Let's do it then. You are more familiar with the north/nw burbs courses, so pick one that an 85-90 shooter can put up that kind of score, and hopefully it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Furious and I are about 75% sure on working something out to play this afternoon in the greater Buffalo Grove/Wheeling area. If anyone wants to join, send one of us a PM or a text.

Playing Saturday and Sunday in a Ryder Cup event. Tomorrow is a team thing with 9 holes scramble and 9 best ball and Sunday is individual.
I had a practice session last night and hit it ok but getting off the tee has been killing me for the past 6 weeks or so. Weather looks perfect so
happy about that.

If getting off the tee is a problem, hit your 1 iron or 3 wood. You are plenty long with those clubs and it is so important to be in proper positions for the approaches.
