In a couple weeks. Staying at Bally's.

Not a huge gambler, prefer sports betting to casino games.

I've never been to Vegas either.

I'll be going to PHX for the Bears game in a few weeks, Vegas is about a 5 hour drive.

Let us know if a tiger ends up in your bathroom, or you get with a Thai Tranny.

In my experience Caesars has the best Sports Book but it all depends on what you are looking for. Looks like it is right across the street from your hotel
so I would at least start there. I've not been but my guess is MGM is nice as well for sports books. I haven't been to Vegas in a number of
years but that is my two cents. Off the strip I enjoyed South Point and the Golden Nugget.

Cool. Last day there is week 4 of NFL season and last day of MLB where all the teams start simultaneously. That should be a fun day.

Vegas is kind of a strange place, there is definitely something there for everyone. I have been there 5 or 6 times total and in my experience I
have actually enjoyed gambling and sports books off the strip more than on, mostly because there is easier access to seating if you are watching
a game. I don't have a lot of other recommendations or advice. If you are into strip clubs I can probably drop you a suggestion there. Used to
go a bit in my younger days with suppliers who enjoyed that kind of thing. You will be there at a good time with baseball wrapping up and NFL
in full swing. Ryder Cup golf will also be going on which would be interesting to bet on.

Learn to play craps. Normally they have sessions to teach it during the day. It's the most fun game and good odds of you do the simple bets.

I prefer the Mirage sports book. Eat at the Carnegie Deli right next to the book.

Breakfast for sure at the Hash House inside Linq. Also, hit Guy Fieri’s Gastro Pub at the Linq. Yardbird is a nice spot at the Venetian. We just put Open Table reservations for Hell’s Kitchen, which is a shiny new spot in front of Caesers. That is a Gordon Ramsey place. Grimaldi’s is a great pizza especially after drinking. Grand Lux is another fabulous breakfast spot. Those are both in the Venetian/Palazzo complex. If you like buffets, then the Bellagio is the best to try. Personally I am sick of them and prefer Planet Hollywood’s.

You should walk through all the major hotels. The Bellagio is the best for that. Venetian is a close second. The Bellagio water show is a must see at night.

For gambling, Planet Hollywood is the most fun. Mirage is low key and has a decent low stakes poker room. Some like the Cosmo, but I am not a huge fan.

Bally’s isn’t great inside. They have a new outdoor styled shopping area that has a bunch of quirky stores. You’ll want to walk down the promenade back to the large Ferris Wheel next to Flamingo. There are a bunch of new shops there. Virgil’s BBQ is in there. Beer pong at O’Sheas if you want to be stupid drunk.

If you are a cigar guy, then go to Rumbar outside at Mirage. Great chill hang out.

I don’t do strip clubs, but my friends love Spearmint Rhino. I never hit the regular clubs, so I can’t help you there.

Ceasars has my favorite sports book setup. Go to the Irish Pub in New York New York...really good food.

We are heading back there Memorial Day weekend for USBC Nationals again. If you wanna get drunk, find a cheap slot machine and just play a turn at a time...they will still bring you drinks.

If you want to take a field trip, go to Crepe Expectations in Henderson...about a 20 minute or so drive from the strip...awesome food.

Get your bets in the night before and if you want a seat get there early. NFL games are on at 10:00. Seats normally gone around 8:00. The book is the best during NFL games. Drop a sweater on a seat or two.

if you haven't been to Vegas in a number of years your opinion isn't worth anything. From what I hear if you haven't been to Vegas in 5 years you wouldn't recognize the place. I personally haven't been there since 97 when Mandalay Bay and Bellagio were the two newest hotels.

It has completely changed....simply amazing how different it is. The City Center complex alone is massive.

Give me your recs

Mirage has my favorite sports book.

O'Shea's at Harrah's / LINQ has the cheapest Blackjack tables near you. You can also sometimes find $5 and $10 tables at Bally's and Paris.

Eat at Mon Ami Gabi.

I would echo everything deni$ said, and add that Mandalay is a nice low-key spot too (probably even more so since the shooting).

Sounds like you don't know how to play then. Maybe you can hire denis to teach you.

Fair point. To me losing $20 is as bad as winning $100 is good, if that makes sense.

If its over a 3 hour sports event, I make my peace with it. When it's just the flip or a card or roll of dice, i want to murder people.

Don't gamble. It could make your trip suck. There are many other things to do for fun and the free drinks aren't worth it.

I know craps well. Best game in the house, but the money flies out of your wallet. The big casinos are at least $10 minimums, usually more.

I have taken to playing the pass line with double odds regardless of the point and then place betting $24 on 6&8. Traditionally I took come bets with double odds, but it gets expensive.

Bellagio is easily the best sports book. It's small though. Caesar's is larger and pretty good too. Westgate is very underrated. Good spot for horseplayers. The Golden Steer is better than any steakhouse in the hotels. If you're with a girl Pamplemousse is a great restaurant. Slightly off the strip, but cheaper and better than many of these modern "chef-oriented" places. I had a lobster potpie at Michael Mina that was similar to the one at Pamplemousse and Mina's could not compare. Spearmint Rhino sucks balls. DO NOT ATTEND. REPEAT: DO NOT ATTEND. The prices are outrageous and they "assign" a girl to you the moment you walk in the door with no other agenda than to separate you from your money. A much better bet is the Can Can Room on Industrial Road. It's not JB's in DeSoto, Illinois, but it's about as laid back as you're gonna find in Vegas.

No room in the Bellagio sports book, so we stopped going there. It is great though if you get a seat.

My pals talk about Rhino all the time. It’s not my thing. Nice to hear an alternate perspective on that place.

Take your own advice. There is no better atmosphere in Vegas than sitting outside at Mon Ami Gabi across from the Bellagio fountains enjoying a late lunch or dinner.

I have been to Vegas numerous times but not too recently.

We have stayed at The Mirage and very happy with the room, food courts, pool, zoo and shows all right there. I'm not a big gambler either but the lighting at the Mirage didn't seem as annoying as the other casino's. That was the same reason I stayed at the Desert Inn years ago.

The Can Can Room!!! I fondly remember exiting that building to the bright morning sunshine many years ago. I think we took a cab there and didn't really pay attention to the location. In the morning we were greeted with the nice view of an overpass and not a clear idea of how to return to civilization.

You sound like me with the loss concerns. If you want to enjoy cheap table games (craps, BJ, roulette, etc) for a day then make an effort to get to downtown. $2-$5 options are abundant in the lower end casinos (other than Saturday night). Casino Royale on the strip is cheaper than the big casinos as well.

If you're a beer fan, find a casino bar with .25c blackjack. Put in $20 and you can drink micro-brew to your hearts content basically for the cost of tips. If you prefer to call a mixed drink then make sure you're betting at least $1 when they take your order. Always best to drink at the bar IMO - you get a full size drink, better service and you know they gave you what you ordered.

That's why you go in with the idea that you already lost all the money you have brought with. It's like walking into a Cubs game with Quintana pitching. You'll likely be disappointed if you expect to leave there a winner. If you decide you will be excited for the probable loss and more excited if you beat the odds and he wins then it is much more fun.
