For a value pick I think Lowry is as good as anyone.

Yes. John Deere Classic in Silvis, IL is this weekend. Jordan Spieth will be there.

The tournament in Silvis is generally quite a good one. Most of the ones before majors (Shell Houston, FedEx St Jude) typically are.

Sucks Rory won't be playing in The Open. I guess the only thing you can say is that he could have screwed up his ankle running or working out, and didn't do something so incredibly stupid like blow his fingers off with a fire cracker.

There should be some low scores this weekend, especially if the course is soft. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody went as low as 61 or 62.

So what are you guys watching this weekend, John Deere or the Scottish Open? or both?

I've got both recording today, not sure which I'll pay more attention to. probably the Scottish since it has a better field sans Spieth.

I will watch some of both, nice having that on when you wake up on Saturday and Sunday morning.

I don't think so...last year I went on a last minute decision and only stuck around long enough to watch 4 or 5 groups play through 18 and enjoy a pork chop sandwich. I don't enjoy watching it in person nearly as much as I used to, and that course can be a bitch to walk compared to the old one.

Maybe I'll make pork chops tomorrow when I get home from work and watch it on TV instead.

Chris Kirk broke his hand playing with his son. He was withdrawn from the Open Championship. Winfield's own Kevin Streelman will take his place.

Spieth flys in Monday night....gets 1 day of practice? Needs to get sleep pattern adjusted....a win here would be really impressive...

He's 21, I don't think that will matter at all.

Tee times for the first two rounds

The two biggest D-bags on tour are playing together, Poulter and Bubba.

Some really good pairings.

Tiger, Day, Oosthuizen
Reed, Garcia, Westwood
DJ, Spieth, Matsuyama
Daly, Dufner, Jimenez
Kaymer, Walker, Scott
Kuchar, Mickelson, Stenson
Fowler, Faldo, Rose

Looking forward to getting a few hours of coverage in before work tomorrow morning. Really enjoy the British Open and St. Andrews is always a
fun venue on television.

The 2016 Masters will be the last for Tom Watson. If he doesn't finish top ten this weekend (top 10 finishers automatically qualify for the next five years), this will be his last Open Championship.

Caught an hour this morning and with no wind the big boys have the course in a headlock.

Tiger is no longer a big boy but yeah I saw he was having some major trouble with his wedges and putter on the front nine.
