Pro tip-hole up in Australia if you can and build up. Leads to success.

Oh, it's Risk, it's a game of world domination being played by two guys who can barely run their own lives.

Or is it because I've built a stronghold around Greenland? I've driven you out of Western Europe and I've left you teetering on the brink of complete annihilation.

Then you have to fight in Asia.

Better to hole up in South America. Go forward through Africa or North America.

holing-up in australia is a losing strategy. once you get penned up down there, you lose your ability to overtake territories, add cards and gain armies. the strategy that always suits me best is to gain middle east, ural, and afghanistan and build a wall there, and move east. let the others duke it out in Europe and africa, smother the fool in australia and then attack north america through alaska. but thats just me.

Fuck all of you pussies who hide in Greenland or Australia and build up armies. I like to control Ukraine. First I march into Ural then onto Siberia. Irkutsk and Yakutsk are next. Then...the world! Out of my way, bitch. I'm rolling a commander! :king:

all right, it's time for a CSFMB Risk Get Together!

At Spaulding's house.

Holing up in Australia works because no one army can hold Asia. It's too big. You're under attack from both Europe and North America. Nobody is going to sit back and let you get seven armies per turn...

Risk is super fun. Also, it is great if you don't want to hang out with your family for a few months but cannot figure out a reason why.

You're all wrong. Africa is the key. Secure North Africa and then you can branch out everywhere. The Australia strategy is for the weak and cowardly.

That's why South America is a good starting point. You get the extra armies if you hold the continent, and North Africa is one territory away.

I had Risk and The Game Of Life -- that one was actually more fun than Risk because AI wasn't crucial to the experience.

I gotta agree on the South America start. That is my strategy. Take that and North Africa and whatever other African countries you can. Build a wall in Venezuela to hold off the North American person and then attack through Africa.

get enough people and we can run a tournament with a winners and losers bracket...maybe run a mission risk game to get to the big game...
