Does Hub have a man grudge against Zach? It seems like Hub is always correcting him on his football opinions. Doesn't he know that Zach is a weekend sports anchor on a major network station in a big city?

Not the subject of this thread, but I heard Lawrence Holmes this weekend say that "the people he talks to around the league say that Emery is a hard working person" or something very close to this comment. Two points, both of which are true - A) Lawrence Holmes has no contacts around the league other than a few ex-Bears. B) Lawrence Holmes simply read the same articles that we did and they all said the exact same thing about Emery being a hard worker.

Why do these hosts/reporters feel the need to constantly mention their sources when it's highly likely they are just referencing a google search they did? Back when the Sam Hurd story broke, during the transition, Holmes had a source in the Chicago police department and Bernstein had a source in Dallas who knew Sam Hurd extremely well and these guys (Holmes/Spiegal and Bernstein) seemed to be in genuine admiration of each of each other's sources.

None of these guys have any sources outside of the Internet and/or an ex players....

As for Hub and Zaidman, Hub has consistently said that while he respects Zach, he needs to check with his own sources to confirm what Zach's report is saying. Again, another joke. None of these guys knew the Bears were going to fire Angelo or who they were going to hire yet people like Hub actually believe (or want us to believe) that they have all of these great sources telling us all kinds of information. I call bullcrap.

Zach's reports are almost comical. The last few years he has taken the Bears apologist role to a whole new level. Hub definately has given an honest perspective on the Bears since he was launched from the radio booth.

Hub said a day or two after the Bears announced their candidates for GM that Emery would get the job. He's obviously got some decent sources within the Bears organization.

Mentioning Zach in the same sentence with Hub is an insult to Hub. Hub, like most of the hosts on the Score think Zach is terrible. Hub has 10X the number of contacts that Zach has. In my opinion, Hub has come a long way as a show host & I enjoy him. I hope that Zach gets moved over to WBBM full time at some point.

I think he was speculating based on his knowledge of how the Bears are managed and the backrounds of the candidates. Emery, being a person who worked for the team and the oldest (neediest) candidate, is stability. He was the obvious "Bear" choice just looking at the resumes with Ross being the least. The shocking candidate was the guy from the Ravens but he got a sniff of what they are and ran from the opening.

I didn't see anyone mention this: Last week Hub did in fact take a small swipe at ZZ. I didn't catch the context leading up to it, but Hub said something very close to "hey guys, look, I was once in the same position Zach is in, and I know how sometimes it's easy to become overly defensive and maybe not realizing it". So, a bit of fuel for the fire.
