Jackie Robinson is a national icon. But, Earl Lloyd the man who broke the color barrier in the NBA is largely overlooked. And as you'll learn in our interview with him, that's just the way he likes it! Plus, we shape things up in studio with fitness guru Hadley Allen on Sports & Torts Thursday at noon central with hosts Elliott Harris and me or download the podcast at any time.

Spada's right. And the Sweetwater you're thinking about is Nate Clifton

Sweetwater Clifton and Earl Lloyd couldn't even tie their shoes if they were playing today. They'd have to go to the D league in Israel.

Were you listening when Dumb Terry dismissed Jerry West and Oscar Robertson as if they were bums? To me, Magic is the greatest non-center that ever played, but come on, man, there's room for conversation. And Terry acting all superior, "He was a point guard, dummy." Well yeah, he was a point guard and a two guard and a small forward and he could probably play the other two if you were really in a pinch. This idea that people are "better athletes" in one generation is so absurd it defies belief.

Elliott Harris and I talk with Earl Lloyd the former West Virginia State standout about breaking the NBA’s color barrier, what it was like playing in the era of segregation, and the honor of being inducted in the Hall of Fame. We also get his thoughts on today’s NBA and on Jackie Robinson.
Just take one look at Hadley Allen, and you know she knows how to get and stay in great shape. She joins Elliott in studio to share training tips and eating advice, as well as details on her personal training services, and her workout programs aimed at boomers.
