Actually, I have no problem with those guys who are proud Cubs fans. I respect drinky as a baseball guy. It's the phonies I don't care for. And even a real Sox fan like Mully is always glass half empty while the station is loaded with Cubs fans who are always optimistic. I realize some of that has to do with the general natures of the respective fanbases, but it really doesn't lend itself to the station being "WSOX", does it?

I'm pretty sure Boers is a Cubs fan. He's a big baseball fan and I don't believe he went his whole life without a hometown rooting interest. He certainly isn't a Sox fan. Yeah, he's got a place in Tampa so now he pulls for the Rays. But I think his roots are with the Cubs.

Somebody needs to send this Orr wacko down for a piss test

Somebody needs to teach you how to spell the name of your favorite pizza place.

I consider it WSOX because ....ummm let's see...they broadcast sox games,...and have pre & post (sox) game shows...and oh ya, that little show on the weekends called White Sox weekly...Which really BLOWS if you are a Cubs fan. Hence....WSOX.

Not to mention the aura of Jerry floating over everyone's head. God forbid anyone piss him off.

Thats why it is WSOX....could be all Cubs fans in the Booths.

Nothing better than the hosts defending their ability to say whatever they want with the same line 'Nobody has ever told me what they can say or can't say regarding the Sox."

Nobody told me I can't talk shit about my clients, but I know I can't.

It's OK JOOR, it should be WSOX if the Score is in a partnership with the team, just own it. They treat the Sox with kid gloves, because it would be too easy to tear into them daily, specifically their broadcast teams to start.

Mac and B&B routinely make fun of the broadcast teams.

For all the poking fun at the Warning To The Jews, I don't think Bernstein has ever intimated that Ed Farmer sucks at his job. He has said that Pat Hughes is bad, though, "too homespun."

Hughes is 10x better at his job than Farmer is.

I've never really heard him discuss Hughes or Farmer. I'm not saying he hasn't, but it isn't a staple of the show. However, they often mock Hawk. They won't come right out and say "Hawk is a moron", but the position is pretty clear. And bernstein absolutely loves Len and Bob.

And yet at the same time they love Hawk and say they'll miss him when he's gone because it's part of being a Sox fan, so.

Also, I don't know too many Cubs fans who titter about ritualistically making their houses smell like Comiskey Park.

I don't really think that's about the Sox. It's more about him wolfing Kosher Polishes.

Man, poor guy goes through all this hard work to paint himself as a Sox fan and here you see right through it all.

But, I mean, if you want to think that a guy with more summer camp anecdotes than the writers of Wet Hot American Summer, who does Jerry Lewis schtick at the mention of every Jewish surname, would be a fan of an enterprise as unflinchingly goyish as the Chicago Cubs, wishing happy birthdays to octogenarian Dubuque ladies over a conservative newspaper's 50,000-watt purveyor of defanged middlebrow babble, well, that's your move.
