Hopefully someone will call in and ask Jiggs why the Monsters were broken up. I think Jiggs has some unresolved anger towards pappy that can be unleashed if he is pressed sufficiently.

If I remember right, Jiggs broke up the Monsters because he didnt want to be typecast as a forever sidekick to Pappy. The anger at Pappy might be because the Monsters ratings stayed with Pappy and never followed the Harvard Holder to his new slots. (Jiggs & Buffone, Jiggs & Mac, Jiggs solo 6-9ish , then thud) .

I hope you are kidding. Mac who worked said North broke them up because he wanted to go solo and North has never seen the ratings he had with Jigs since the Monster days.

Jiggs is not gonig to rip North next week on his own show. Is not going to happen.

You could be right BD, but I miss Jiggs on the radio so I'll actually switch from Mike & Mike for this.

I couldn't stand Jiggs...It's one thing to not be negative..that's actually somewhat refreshing when we have so many hosts are nothing but that, but he's way to happy for me.

Jigs also was quoted as not wanting to permanently associated with 'those kind of ' viewpoints from North. Guess the breakup was mutual. North solo was really lacking after that. Tru. north didnt match monsters, but did better than jiggs.

The best ratings had to be the Heavy Fuel Crew. I dont think any sports radio can match that, especially coming out of that weak station that sometimes signed off before 6pm.
