Did he get sent to his room with no TV? For being on the score so often previously, seems "and just like that, he's gone!"

Tying your career to an Ozzie Guillen was not exactly a savvy move on his part.

That, and not being sure that his brain was engaged before typing on Twitter.

He's still writing for the Sun-Times, but he's now covering Uncle Jerry's other team. That team happens to be the Bulls.

He was too sleazy and bigoted to be a sportswriter, for fuck's sake. I honestly don't know where you go from there.

Not to mention, he's a terrible writer, with terrible thoughts.

His connection to the Guillens was all there ever was.

He built his beat around a connection to one goof and his kids. Now they're gone. How is he helping anyone?

Plus he's just a fucked up guy. He grew up in Cleveland a Steelers fan and worked the White Sox beat while living in Minnesota. What the fuck?

I miss Jay Mariotti. While his columns were dedicated to the cultivation of nincompoopery, he was/is one hell of a writer.

You really think so? You're not the first guy to say that, but I just don't see it. He had an annoying habit of trying to create his own memes, e.g. "The Big Skirt", "The Blizzard of Oz", etc. When you're a columnist and you do that, it starts to seem like the same column every day to a regular reader. Steve Rosenbloom is similar that way. "Organ-I-zation" wasn't really funny the first time he wrote it. I certainly don't need to read that countless times.

Lots of hockey fans jokingly affect the "organ-eye-zation" pronunciation, though. It's just one of those weird hockey shibboleths.

I understand what it is- a slight mocking of the Canadian pronunciation, particularly as spoken by Bob Pulford. I'm just saying I could do without Rosenbloom pointing it out for the thousandth time.

Well, if you don't like Steve Rosenbloom beating jokes into the ground so that they pop back out in China, then you just can't read Steve Rosenbloom.

Before he had found his groove with Grote on Saturday mornings, I heard him do a show where he said someone was "sent to bed without dessert" six times in the span of an hour. I like Rosenbloom, but man, if you let him, he'll grab something and not let go.

His "Death Spiral Dave" tag for Wannstedt is another example of something woefully awkward and unfunny that he beat into ground.

When I was doing errands last Saturday morning I listened to their show for a little bit and when a caller would ask how they're doing he'd say "I'm basking in my own fabulousness" or something like that. That's tantamount to Harry's "What's growing on?"

That's why I think Rosenbloom is perfectly positioned one day a week in the mornings

The best I could give him is the label of decent wordsmith. We've been through this before but great writing is more than simply turning a phrase.
