He meant #9 seed, and believe it or not, Indiana State was a #9 seed when they went to the Final Four in 1979.

He meant #9 seed, and believe it or not, Indiana State was a #9 seed when they went to the Final Four in 1979.


I understand what he meant, I just don't see the significance. It's just a stupid statistic, and I would expect to hear something like that from ESPN.

That lower ranked teams have reached the Final Four twice in the last eight years, and as recently as two years ago.
