I'm growing tired of Reason's guard-dogging of Murph,

Blow me. My guard-dogging Murph can't hold a candle to your B&B lickage. If you can't handle my occasional defense of Murph too bad. I make a couple posts a month about him.
I usually ignore most everything posted about him, as it come from a few people with personal grudges against him. He's an easy target, especially for those who worship at the altar of Terry Boers.
You claim to listen. Why? I don't understand why someone who dislikes him so, would listen just to come here and bitch about him. Perhaps, you should find more useful ways to spend your early afternoons. That is, unless you enjoy being pissed off and constantly bitching about a radio host you dislike.

If I'm "licking" B and B, wouldn't that mean that I always take their side?
If you look back on this site, you would see that's not the case. I've taken issue with those two on more than one occassion. The one that comes to mind is the bit where they disputed Joey Cora about a base-running situation at third base -- just because he disagreed with their belabored point.
You like Murph's show. That's fine. But your White Sox caller post just doesn't hold a lot of water. You never gave us a count of calls. Also you're comparing a two-hour show to those that run four or more hours, which makes it hard to believe that your statement is true. If he's so even-handed -- as you try to assert -- why take the shot at White Sox fans with "Must have been a White Sox fan".
And before you start, I don't like it when B and B refer to someone as "sports" retarded just because there's a disagreement in the point of view. I've also written that before on this site.

Also, I'm not a Cubs fan -- but I wouldn't be rooting against the North Siders if they made the playoffs -- or subsequently played in the World Series.
I don't hate the team -- or a majority of their fans. I do feel that some fans and radio personalities are getting ahead of themselves (not Murph, but Harry).
My father passed away a few months ago, and he was a huge Cubs fan. He used to drink coffee from a mug from the 1969 season. It had player autographs all over it. I was born the night that Sandy Koufax tossed his no-hitter against the Cubs, and my dad had to leave the radio to take my mom to the hospital. I switched to the South Side when Ron Santo was traded before the 1974 season.
I wore a Cubs tie to my dad's funeral, and I would love to return to his grave after the Cubs win the World Series and share a few moments with him.
A few tears came to my eyes when Ramirez hit the home run against the Brewers and the "Go Cubs Go" song wafted throughout the stadium.

I should have said as a percentage of air-time, he probably talks as much Sox as any show. I have better things to do than chart the calls he takes from Sox fans. You claim to listen, so do it yourself. If I recall, that particular post was directed at those who claim he never talks about the Sox. I never asserted he was even-handed. Does he talk more Cubs? Yes, and why shouldn't he? He is one of the few Cub fans on the station and he has his own show. So he can talk about whatever the hell he wants.
Is he short with callers? Yes, he is. That is no revelation to anyone who listens. Murph is not for everyone, but I like his show.
You still never answered my question as to why you listen when you seem to have nothing good to say about his show or derive any enjoyment from it.

I'll end an a serious note. That was touching story about your father, condolences on your loss. I hope you get to share that WS moment with him before you pass on and before I pass on, for that matter.

There are segments that I always try to catch; like his time with John Dewan.
"What's your beef" and "Tool of the Week" can be enjoyable.
I've never said this before, because I don't know if that question has been raised about the favorite parts of Murph's show.
Most posts deal with his Cubbie love and his red-ass behavior.
P.S. I appreciate your sentiment about my family's loss.

I despise Murph, but this "slip" seems fairly innocuous.
