Yep. She was a regular talk show "caller". Just like I believe 'Ol Clyde wasn't real. It was a bit for Roe & Garry

I liked when Steve & Garry did their "Top 10 News Foxes." Steve was always hot for Deborah Norville:

They used to mention Janet Davies a lot too. And then there was the guy at WGN they would lampoon because he always talked about his "five-alarm chili"

Thanks -- I just couldn't remember the name.
Talking about his turbo Saab was part of the routine too, iirc.

He was heavily into motorsports and still is, I believe.

Also, he came on S&G once while they were doing Paul Steve and Paul Garry. He was pretty cool with it.

No

Caller Annie from Shaer's old show was totally real and a different person.

I heard some Bill and Wendy at about 9:30 this morning. They were talking about the L or something and Bill was doing schtick about how this wacky system has color-coded lines and what does that even mean. He said, and I quote, "the only one I know is the Yellow Line, and that's because it smells like urine!"

The Yellow Line just goes through Skokie. Unless the cars are full of old Holocaust survivors who have come to piss themselves, why would that line be the one to smell like urine? What a stupid joke. And why, on a station whose entire imaging campaign is based on being fully of Chicago, would you feign ignorance about its well-known transit system? And how is color-coding hard to understand, anyway? What a dope.

He's just trying to make sure his comedy stylings are able to compete with the morning show 5 notches down the dial.

Sorry was referring to Boers and Bernstein Caller Ann, not Annie from Shaer's show.

Spike O'Dell always talked about his chili.

Steve is right, Deborah Norville is hot.

Yeah he did. But I'm pretty sure Spike had it, too. I know for sure he had the "Bite your butt Mustard".

Five alarm chili was Spike. They made fun of Fred for many other legit reasons.

I was amazed the first time I heard Spike O'Dell's show. I thought a radio DJ named "Spike" who marketed a brand of butt-biting mustard would be slightly edgier than a plastic butter knife. It was just some sleepy old guy throwing it to weather every five minutes!

That's my issue with WGN. My morning commute is up for radio grabs. I used to listen to Bob Collins regularly as he was often discussing sports. But, I tried Johnny B and it's just 2 minutes of content and then a commercial/weather/traffic/news. M&H are the same so I don't catch much of them either.

Mornings are for podcasts. Drive home is a bit better on the commercial interruption.
