REPORTS TO: WFMT Program Director

PROCESS: Content

JOB PURPOSE:

Produce multi-part series, concert programs, and modules for local and network broadcasts, including:
Lyric Opera live opening night broadcasts and Network series;
Ryan Opera Center Recital Series, in cooperation with Lyric Opera of Chicago;
Other series for international distribution, including the Salzburg Festival and Thomas Hampson radio programs; other programs as assigned.
Provide major production assistance for WFMT membership drives, including production of listener testimonials, collages, managing and loading music and clips in NexGen automation software and hosting during membership drives.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years broadcast production experience.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Candidate must have knowledge of radio broadcast equipment (NexGen Software preferred). Advanced computer skills and experience with digital editing is desired. Broad knowledge of classical music, vocal music and opera is required. Web publishing skills, including Wordpress and html is preferred. The ideal candidate would have exceptional organizational and writing skills, along with the ability to work independently. Candidate would also have the ability to conduct engaging interviews and finish programs in a timely manner, complete and without errors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, write, record, edit programs for local and network broadcasts.
Assist program director and production team with produced on-air material.
Record, and edit programs for local and network broadcasts.
Serve as on-air fundraiser and line producer as needed.
Serve on the Membership Drive Committee to plan all drives.
Host live concerts for local broadcast.
Other tasks and projects as assigned by Program Director.

when jason gets to that part where it says you need "broad knowledge of classical music" he could be like "well hey guys, i've definitely got broad knowledge.... do you need any help with the ladies? ask my old showmates at the score, i'm world-renown with the broads"

otherwise, hey, still a good solid point to make.... but methinks once you get a taste of THE GLORY dangerously-producing/vanillaistically-hosting sports talk radio shows you can never go back to.... other radio. brian paruch was never a purebred sports guy! he lacked DA FIRE AND DA PASHIN!
