Perhaps go over the splits when you take out WMVP's lowly rated national morning slot. B&G (primary proponents of SJW radio) are getting killed by W&S, especially in the demo

Meh I just care that B&G are getting licked and that's exactly what happened. If M&H are finding success, good for them, they aren't SJW twats.

Yes. FF more than anyone knows we need to look at the advanced metrics.

Both stations lost to 87.7 by half a point. Barry Manilow Radio > Sports Radio, apparently.

Well now that Barry has come out of the closet does that make 87.7 social justice radio?

No, because "What a Fool Believes" by the Doobie Brothers uses an ableist slur.

Too bad ESPN Radio has no local budget whatsoever. Kap is likable, but there's nothing else. If they added Danny Mac and Mike North, 670 would get crushed. The question isn't if 670 will die or not, it's when.

This has all of the markings of a bad SID post. 4 bad thoughts in 4 sentences. Well done.

If only WMVP would employ two guys that haven't worked a major daypart in this market in over a decade. That would be ratings gold.

Spring training, that is; the "March" book is 3/2-3/29, no games that count.

The idea is that these last two books have occurred after the lineup (and ratings) ripples caused by Terry's victory lap and goodbye show, but before the earnest beginnings of the Cubs season, and as such reflect the general interest garnered by the new lineup put forth every weekday by The Score.

The results, even when accounting for the time of year, are not good, especially when considering what the direct competition has done in the same time frame.

Sure, this Cubs season might save the station's revenue (at $10 million per year just for the rights) this year, but if the Cubs ratings falter, for any reason whatsoever, the station doesn't appear to have talent that resonates with listeners anymore, and will struggle in the months that are not propped up by Cubs games.

And really, this gives a new, more objective, avenue to criticize the content we consume regularly and come to this board to discuss and/or make fun of.

Bernstein & Co. can more easily laugh off cries of "heard this, PTFB" than they can remembrance of their consecutive 2.1 and 2.2 cumulative ratings shares while WMVP closed the gap (and beat them in the demographic that generates the most ad revenue). Everyone in the lineup knows, or should know, that this overall ratings performance is incredibly poor given the station history alone.

Considering just how abysmal the new Score is, I think they actually weathered the post-Terry-pre-Cubs storm pretty well. They should have done much worse.

Can't Do It Question: Who is more responsible for consecutive 2.1 and 2.2 ratings shares, as well as the direct competition beating you in the key demographics, Bernstein & Goff, Spiegel & Parkins, or Laurence?

I mean, if you're winning mornings but losing middays, I guess the brunt of the blame has to go to middays. As much as I criticize the Score's culture of insecurity and incompetence, there is such a thing as a "Score Guy" and that's been part of the station's appeal. Dropping a guy in, local or not, from Kansas City with no familiarity to the listeners goes against everything the Score has been, to say nothing of the fact that his style of polish and professionalism goes against the rampant unprofessionalism that has characterized the station from day one, whether that's drunk-dialing your own station or fighting with one another on the air or shitting your pants. Of course, no one outside our world is identifying this as "an unwelcome departure from the Score's characteristic unprofessionalism," it just comes out as "this show isn't that good."

Of course, daypart breakdowns could come out and show middays are doing fine and the Dan And Jason Cavalcade Of Beating Off To Out-Of-Market Basketball is what's tanking the station. In fact, that's probably what will happen because I'm wrong about everything.

At this point, if I don't want music, I only listen to M&H and the weekend late morning shows (Levine and then Rosenbloom on Saturday, Hit and Run on Sunday). The rest of the time, I'll put on the ESPN national feed if it's LeBatard or Jones, or otherwise MLB Network Radio or a random baseball game.
