(s)murf,

The word effette is pronounced ef FEET not ef fet. If you're going to do transition using a word as a centerpiece at least look up how it's supposed to sound.

P.S. I did try to email this to (s)murf at WSCR but it bounced... hopefully they are hinting at something good to come :-)

I heard that and I always thought it was ef-FEET, too! But, when the two journalists, and presumably students of the English language, in the studio (Hanley and Mulligan) didn't correct him, I began to think maybe I was wrong all these years!

With (s)murfs past history of hissy fits, snits, tizzies, or full blown attacks of the vapors with other WSCR personnel I'm not surprised that Mully & Hanley exercised admirable restraint & waited until after (s)murf left to start lauging at him :-)
