We're 2 weeks away, fans, from the end of Mike North's contract at 670 "The SCORE". From all indications, the end is near for "Pappy". If that's the case, it may be addition by subtraction in my opinion. Although I would prefer a totally new sound in morning drive with Laurence Holmes, Zach Zaidman & Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch hosting a totally new show, there's talk that Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley might actually take over the dawn patrol on 'SCR if North leaves. Should that happen, here's what I think the rest of the new "SCORE" lineup should be:
6-10a Mully & Hanley or Holmes/Zaidman/Paruch
10a-2p Mike Murphy
2-6p Boers & Bernstein
6-10p "Last Call" w/Matt Abbatacola & Jason Goff*

If you give morning show to the young'uns, you'll have to find bodies to do the weekend shifts. Unless that's your consolation prize to North.

You have a valid point concerning weekend duty, especially when the White Sox don't play. I tend to think if Laurence, Brian, Matt, Jason & Zach aren't offered the morning drive shift, they're definitely in the mix for weekends. I had a tough time trying to fill "Mully & Hanley's" midday shift if they move to morning drive replacing Mike North. I think it should NOT necessarily be divided like they have it now, with the two Sun-Times sportswriters & Mike Murphy each working only 2 hours between 10a-2p weekdays. What made this tough was what to do with Dan Patrick and his syndicated sports talk show. To me, D.P. should be live instead of on tape delay between 10p-1a, or after 670 "The SCORE's" Sox coverage. Then again, I also realize that Dan's interviews are available at 670thescore.com on demand, long before the show airs in its entirety. For the record, if you can't wait for Dan's show, it airs live from 8-11a weekdays on XM Satellite Radio's SportsNation 144.

They're not going to put Zaidman and Larry in the mornings. Somebody has to be the Bears reporter. Although, after the baseball season Jesse could do that. Score doesn't have the Blackhawks any more. But Jesse is gonna be covering one if not both baseball teams into October.

Plus, why the hell would you want either of them? They are both bad.

With the Sun-Times going out of business I think Mulligan and Hanley would got to mornings for the right price and quit the Sun-Times.

Then you can just extend Murph to 4 hours. Or give Murph the mornings and extend Mully and Hanley 4 hours (10-2)

I'm not sure about Fred Huebner's contract status at "The SCORE", let alone if he'd continue doing updates if "Mully & Hanley" take over morning drive next month at Sports Radio 670. For all I know, he could be on the way out just like "Pappy". I can't help you with that one, let alone the status of the other sports update anchors...

Well, he'd better, because he's about on par with Offman as a host.

I don't expect his contract lines up with North's expiration date.

I would like to see Mike + Doug reunited middays. And if you want Holmes/Zaidman/Paruch, just listen to Kiss, that would be the same thing

Actually, Brian Paruch spins tunes part time on 101.9 "The MIX". Believe it or not, when he was on "Mancow" & other FM rock stations before he joined 670 "The SCORE" & Newsradio 780 WBBM doing updates, the "Whipping Boy" as he was known seemed to develop a passion of sorts for sports talk. I think he's as much as a sports fan as he is playing whatever music "The MIX" plays...

Do any of you fellas think North will have a slot in this new lineup?
I seem to recall reading that he was gone. Is this true?

Maybe they should just drop the sports format and move to early 70's dance music.
