I can’t believe this thread made it into 2024. It’s good to be remembered, even if it’s not fondly. One good thing about age is it allows you to look at your younger self more clearly. Many of you leveled a lot of criticism at me, and I deserved it. While I’m proud of my 20 years in radio, I made a lot of mistakes. The difference between me and some of the guys I came up with at SNR was I complained about nonsense while they focused on getting better. That’s why some are still working and thriving in the business today.

If I could give any advice to young people thinking about going into sports-talk radio, it would be to just work at your craft every day. Concentrate on improving. When someone critiques your work, don’t get defensive as I did. Listen to what they have to say and build on it.
