Listened to a little this morning and found the whole rawk-station morning zoo so quaint. I didn't think a music station had the budget to put three people on at the same time.

EDIT: i will say that the vibe of the station is weird because it feels like it's straining against itself not to be WIIL Rock. The imaging, the DJ who sounds like she could work at a haunted house in Round Lake Beach, but instead of taking you into the worst post-grunge shit you've ever heard, it's just Lenny Kravitz.

Ironically....the rock station out of Tampa is 97.9. It's WIIL (minus Tom Kief) but better music.

Oddly enough last night, I started getting a bunch of reels of a sultry-voiced woman dancing to a song about "thirstday" in front of the Rock 95.5 logo in a studio, and after watching a few more of her bits it looks like she's pretty funny and engaging. With over 100K instagram followers to boot. She even gets a little bit of the Wise Words From Neve type trolling in the comments, but turns even those into funny content.

Yeah, she seems to be very talented. Definitely should be doing voiceover work on the side.

I've listened a little bit this morning. The music is still the safest, most iHeart-approved library imaginable, which isn't bad because it's been meticulously researched and engineered to never be bad, it just makes me miss the weirdness the Loop would sprinkle in occasionally. Today she hit the post on "Where the Streets Have No Name," and while I don't expect reverence from an irreverent morning show, I also wouldn't expect Streets to be the intro they make dick jokes over. I'd sooner just not play it at all.
