Apparently Larry Holmes played against Antwaan Randle El. Hopefully Larry talks about it.

Larry graduated from HF in 93 and did participate in sports at HF unless he missed picture day every year. Besides, Randle El graduated from Thornton in 97. Not sure when this would have happened.

It’ll be some travel baseball bullshit. Something totally unverifiable.

I haven't thought about this topic in 28 years, but I don't even think that Thornton and HF were in the same conference in the mid 90's.

Thornton was the first team we played freshman year in football when I was at Lyons Township in 88. We played 6 conference games, one game vs a West Suburban Gold team (we were WS Silver) and 2 out of conference. As a yoot who knew nothing about where any other high schools were, I was worried every away game would be 45 minutes away.

They were in the SICA East together. Holmes graduated before Randle El even started high school though.

Larry Holmes saying he thinks he and Antwaan Randle El are third cousins. But, he's not totally sure. It's not too far down the family tree to be fuzzy on.

Larry said his extended family is those who are police officers and those who aren't. Did he really mean those who are incarcerated and those who aren't?

Both great athletic talents.

you must add to the calculation that Randle El was probably playing above his class.

I doubt he was playing 8th graders in rec league baseball when he was in 4th grade. But I guess plausible.

Where's Spiegs??

Now is not the time to be taking days off and giving Larry a chance to 'hang' with some other voices and really drive the afternoon.
