New to the board so this may have been covered before so I apologie in advance but baseball been very very good to me.

I love Jeff Dickerson and the passion he brings for his assignments particularly his recent final four work in Indy. I can see why Mac is high on him but for me JD lacks something. Maybe a killer instinct or mean streak can't quite put my finger on it.

I think he lacks an authoritative sounding voice. He sounds like someone who is talking to you, not someone you should be listening to. Maybe that authority will come will more experience and confidence. I do think he's good, and getting better. I would like to hear JD and JHood, sans Mongo, though.

You said it, partner. I have no use for Mongo or Mango.

The thing I like about a J-Dee/J-Hood evening show is these guys can go year-round. I'm not prepared to call either guy a guru in any particular department, but both of them are competent in covering football, baseball, hoops, plus some collegiate action. That's a big selling point for me. It bugs me that certain hosts are absolutely useless once the season of their particular background concludes.

On top of that, I think they work well together. I get the impression they get along. Plus, both guys are capable of driving the show. This helps a lot when one guy is absent. If only one guy can drive and he's out, the show takes on an entirely different personality when the fill-in is running things.

I think JHood and Silvio would do a great NCAA football show, just like Score Saturday used to be.
