The irony of this is that it the webio's demise chronologically coincided with Mac's glorious return to the station that he left after the man who started webio orchestrated changes at the Score that lead to Mac's departure. Karma (my neighbor's dog) is a bitch.

I feel for the guys who have lost their jobs but understanding the economic climate and web-based shows really not doing well or catching on you would ask guys like Hood, Chet and others why take a chance like this early and risk being put on waivers??

I give North credit for making a run at this and you can point the finger they were getting into bed with a scumbag in Mr. H and you should blame the Norths for not doing some backround checks on the guy but the bottom line is why try and put something that has not really been embraced by the consumer??

Because they were making 2-3 times as much money.

Exactly! In this day and age if someone offers you a 100% raise at a startup web based radio station and you jump at it without doing some investigating then you are a moron who let greed get in the way of reason. Jesse, I'm looking at you.

It's not like they were being offered 2-3 times the money to do the same job. A lot of the Webio staff (all?) were part timers getting their own full show. That would explain the increase in pay.

Every single person on this board would jump at a chance to triple your salary.
Heck, some of you guys would make $60K then!

Yes...triple your salary for three months. Then I will give you 10 times your salary. 10 x 0 = ZERO you fuck!

No, not all of us. Some of us have been promised the world by an employer; only to get screwed in the past. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

But to me, if you have any experience in radio; and you see how local broadcasts are not doing well, and that his is North's SECOND go around with web based broadcasts (the first being his 'love myself' fests just after leaving the Score) and that interest level WAS NOT THERE to keep him doing it daily; you were foolish to believe a guy who burned just about every bridge he could.

I feel for them, as much as I feel for ANY person who has lost work; but I don't think they were fooled into doing this.

I think they were fool-ish for not doing their homework in advance themselves; instead of trusting Mr. H and North.

North might not be criminally responsible; but he certainly helped lure away talent from WSCR/ESPN.

Right, a web based startup comes in and offers you a promotion AND a 2-3x increase in salary in the middle of a depression and none of those idiots think that might be too good to be true and check into the company. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I really don't have any sympathy for any of them, the ones that weren't motivated by desperation (already unemployed) were motivated by greed and stupidity.

Blindly? I doubt that I would; I don't believe most people would be that imprudent.

And, might I also add that it's oh-so-clever to infer that not only do most of the unwashed on this board make c. $20k/yr., but that you also make much, much more.

That said, full disclosure, if I made $60k I'd feel like Bill Gates. Luckily, I'm not embarassed to urinate in a public facility.
