North is interviewing Clyde Drexler, and started off with a long winded conversation asking Clyde about how he and many others like Ewing felt, since they "couldn't win anything" while MJ was in the league.

Even while North was still asking the question, Clyde looked off-screen like "WTF!?!?!?!"

In classic fashion, North finished his long winded question with a statement that Hakeem was able to steal one while MJ was out of the league. Clyde jumped in and let him know that he too, was on that Rockets team that won it. Then Mike, clealry disheveled, comes back with, "So what you were saying is that you were able to steal one when MJ was out of the league?"

Clyde again let him know that in fact MJ was playing that year.

All in all, let me tell you. Some of the most awkward shit I have ever seen.

Mailing it in,that's nice! I guess not the 1st time. What is annoying is how he tries to cover it up.

Better transcribed:

Mike North: "The landscape of great pro players that never won anything because of him (Michael Jordan) is really really huge. You are talking about You, Patrick Ewing, the list goes on and on...

Clyde gives the best WTF look to his producer, eyebrows cringed, clearly bothered. (Note: Clyde was on via satelite, although he was actually in Chicago)

North: Brad Daughert... some great great players Clyde, that had to basically really suffer... except for Hakeem Olajuwon who grabbed that opportunity when MJ left.

Clyde: Well I was also on that team...

Mike: That's true... I forgot about...everybody thinks of you as Portland. That's right that was Clyde, (stutter)... that was 5 slamma jamma, basically.

Clyde: (Laughing), I'll get ya straight. We won, and Chicago was there and they were very good. But those are the best times... (interrupted by Mike)

Mike: Yea, but you won when Jordan didn't play, right. Is that what you are saying?

Clyde: No, No... he played in '95.

Mike: That didn't count... That didn't count...

Clyde: Orlando beat Chicago, and we swept Orlando

Mike: Yea we tried to forget when Nick Anderson stole that ball from Michael

Jiggs: But that's when Michael was wearing 45 so that doesn't count.

Clyde: No, No. He was 23 that year.

I saw 5 minutes of the show...North was screaming for a closeup of the caps of advertisers....I used to feel sorry for Jiggetts.....no longer...the show ought to be renamed "The Village Idiots".
This thing is painful.

I don't know if I can believe all this stuff. Mike is usually very well-prepared for interviews and always researches his guests' history and backgrounds thoroughly.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

And, I do have one question to anybody who suffered through this...

Was there a reason Clyde Drexler was on? Middle of summer with 2 baseball teams fighting to get in the playoffs, the Bears are in camp, and you have Clyde Drexler on? Really, is there anyone who would get up in the morning, flip on this show, and want to see that?

Just wonderin'...

everyone who defends nort always says, look at all the great guests they get, 95% of the guests are pimping something or work for the tribune/comcast.

I don't remember what it was, but I believe it was an All-State Insurance sponsored basketball tourney, or something like that? Clyde was definitely wearing a polo with the insurance logo on it.

Yes, which unfortunately happens virtually every single time he opens his mouth about ANY topic at ANY time. I wouldn't believe him if he said his own ass itches.

Will LECET Laborers be used when the new owner of the Cubs starts rebuilding THE SHRINE?

Actually Clyde is wrong there. MJ wore #45 that season. How can anyone forget the famous 4-brick Nick Anderson quote after he stole the ball, "I guess 45 isn't the same as 23."

Then the next year MJ switched back to 23 and swept the shit out of Orlando in the second round.

Actually, didn't Jordan switch back after the game one loss in '95 (and the Nick Anderson comments)? I remember him being fined heavily by the NBA for it. But I'm almost certain he finished the series wearing 23. Clyde may be somewhat right, but Jordan was wearing 45 in game one.

Absolutely correct, JAWS.
