I was think about this this morning. For me the final scene in The Raging Bull reminds me of Chet Coppock. Someone who used to have it talking about where it went wrong. Whenever the holiday seasons come around you would hear Chet filling in for a show talking about the good old days at NBC, how he had expensive Cadillacs, multiple houses, and how he was the biggest thing in sports radio. And then he would talk about how Marc Giangreco took his job, and he would brag about how he was "the cats meow."

Just like the overweight and washed-out boxer, Jake La Motta,that DeNiro is portraying, Chet is living in the past and tries to be the guy he used to be, when clearly he doesn't have it anymore.
