Caught a few moments of Spiegs on Comcast this evening. I thought he did a very good job discussing the Bears. Might benefit from a wardrobe upgrade, though.

Yes. His clothes were awful, but what made it worse was he was slouched in his chair.
Spiegs definitely has a look for radio.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get extremely annoyed by Spiegs' Bahhston accent?

He's not as bad as some New Englanders; but, having lived there for a number of years, any trace of that Bostonian "bahh bahh" drives me crazy.

I'm surprised he has had such a long radio career without dealing with that regional accent.

Wasn't Spiegel born and raised in New Jersey? To the extent Spiegel has a Bahston accent, it's phony. You don't pick up a regional accent just by attending college in that region--you gotta really wanna talk that way and deliberately try.
