I get a kick out of listening to talk radio on the holidays. All subs, no callers, and you quickly learn to appreciate the quality of the regular day-to-day hosts.

Case in point: This afternoon's topic on the Score:

Is today's Hawks game a must-win?

Now, I am being serious here. That is the topic. If you don't believe me, ask someone you trust if they listened today. Or download the podcast. I'm being completely serious. Is today a must-win.

Now, I admit to being a bandwagon hockey fan here, but, it's the best of seven, right? And, this is the Finals, correct?

Is this a must-win???? :? :? :?

It occurs to me that there are times where the must-win debate might be interesting: You start the season 0-4. Is the next game a must-win? Maybe; you've got to turn things around... but then again, it's still very early in the season. Interesting debate. Or maybe, it's after mid-season, you're in a slump, and you're facing your division rival with first place on the line. That could be an interesting must-win debate.

But...

Game 2. Of the Finals.

Is it a must-win?

:? :? :?

Well, hey, I guess there are seven of 'em, can't hurt to piss a few of them away...

:? :? :?
