Again. U have no clue wtf you're talking about.

Per wikipedia...

In 2004, the John Jay report tabulated a total of 4,392 priests and deacons in the U.S. against whom allegations of sexual abuse have been made.

But your point about it pissing off the catholics sounds right. Do you really believe thats what happened there?

The operative phrase is "relative few."

If 2 or 3 out of 100 total is not a "relative few", then I'll log off and wait for you and JBills to give me your collective definition.

Im not arguing numbers.

Like I said, the leadership represents the group.

I made no point about pissing off Catholics. So I do not know what that part of your post refers to.

And again, there were many in leadership roles that did not pass molesters from one parish to the next. The guilt by association in your post is really no different then the rantings of Bernstein.

I would bet there isn't a single friend, relative or former classmate who went to law/medical school who wouldn't trade positions with Bernstein given the respective costs/rewards of their career choices. Not one.

making mid six figures for 4 hours of work (which begin after lunch and end before dinner) without having to get an advanced degree...where do I sign up

While I don't think Bernstein aspires to become a true white collar professional (doctor, lawyer, etc), I do think he covets the prestige accorded to white collar professions. This partially explains the fetishization of professionalism that characterizes much of his world view.

While I don't usually dislike or mind Holmes, he really got under my skin
last night when I jumped in the car to go home and he was jamming to
C & C Music Factory. I hadn't heard that song in 15 years or more, and
there is a reason for that.

Maybe the law school people wouldn't trade but I'm sure many of the doctors would rather stay doctors. Many probably make more money and find the experience of saving someone's life more rewarding than yelling at people who think that they shouldn't have traded Luol Deng for Kobe Bryant.

It beats the show he did several years ago, asking if it was OK for men to wear women's soccer or basketball jerseys. Something like that.... I think he throws wacky shit out there to get a reaction.

yeah as terry boers once said, i believe quoting royko or somebody else oldschool like that, writing a column is akin to flinging shit against the wall and seeing what sticks.

i didn't listen to that show/segment only because laurence hyped it up SOOOOO much it was like "you know what? i'mma fingerbang the button" at one point i came up with a laurence holmes 30 minute broadcast drinking game that totally nailed all of his formulaic tendencies and basically allowed for you to get shitfaced/sidewalk-staining within the 30 minutes. i think it started off with a shot once he declared that he's got soooooooo much to get to tonight. then within a minute or two it's a reference to what people have been saying on facebook and blah blah blah.

you know, i always considered laurence to be OK and whatnot... save for SHAKE THAT!!!@ i never really paid too close of attention to him since i'd be zoning out of b&b and making dinner and whatnot... alls i remember from hamp and holmes is the "who took a hit off of michael phelps bong?" segment: radio unobtanium for sure.

but after i read this board more often and made a point to listen for the annoying things people mention, i was like keanu reeves saying "...whoa!" i mean i had always been annoyed by his tryingwaytoohard style, being all nice and homely and this and that... but you guys truly opened my eyes and ears. thank you for doing so, i am no doubt a far better person for it. ISOP here i come baby!

oh yeah as far as jerseys go... i'm a true blue expos fan. vlad's my dude. i've got two of his (missing the road jersey... someday!) and i've got a gameworn spring training expos #69, a vermont expos camo #24, the 83 throwback signed by michael barrett tony armas jr and orlando cabrera (almost faded off) and then some dude gave me an odd semi-throwbackish brewers jersey dearry/01... i represent les expos and always reserve the right to. i dont care what some midget on teh air tells me bout being cool... i mean he thinks comic books are cool, yet jersey people over 30 are lame?

you're only as lame as the name of the man on your back. nuff said.

Heard a minute or two of somebody in studio giving a Big Ten breakdown last night but didn't catch who it was - anybody know? Around 8pm?

Just curious who their Big Ten Expert Insider Contributor is?

Speaking of my handle, can someone please ask Holmes if Lance Briggs was reading comics when he crashed his Lamborghini and then ran from the scene?

Larry says he asked "hard questions" of Lovie when he was the WSCR Bears reporter while sitting next to his idol who screams for the hard question from WSCR reporters.

there is a reason for that.

T-Bone, when LoHo does a full 4 hour show on nights there's no White Sox game, he does a "Subliminal Song of the Night", and he'll admit ahead of time there are songs that are really, really bad. The whole point is that the "Subliminal Song" is supposed to get stuck in your head the rest of the night. Most of the time, LoHo and/or members of his production staff pick the song and it's played before the 7p "Scoreboard Update" on non-Sox gamenights.

Factually speaking, C & C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat" was a huge dance hit back in 1991, even though there were accusations that the female singer on that track didn't really sing.

Monday night, LoHo actually brought back the original 1976 "What's Happening!!!" theme, along with the 1985 update "What's Happening Now?!", complete with the jazzy horn in the middle. What he didn't tell you is that Henry Mancini recorded both of those classic TV themes.
