...maybe

hard to believe nobody mentioned this about our favorite hometown broadcaster

Pat Hughes got an extension.

Nobody knows how much though.

Heard him talking with M & P yesterday afternoon.

Classy guy, well liked and very good at what he does.

Complimentary to his employer/team, brand and partner.

I hope the raise is huge - he deserves it.

Great play by play man.
Terrific rapport with all his sidekicks.

Hes great. I can see the game when I can't be in front of the television because of him.
Good on you pat.

Yeah, what's up with that.

and i agree...that "delirious 10 year olds" thing was fucking stupid and I cringe every time i hear it. It's in the Hall of Fame of blunders by someone who's ordinarily exceptional at their craft.

boring as hell. puts me to sleep. I might like him if he said what the score was once in a while since it's on radio.

No personality and a sing song voice. I feel like Pat Hughes does play by play while taking a shit. He may be on the Spectrum.

I agree with you on Pat saying the score during the game. He goes way too long without saying it.

Very disappointing. He deserves a pink slip far more than he deserves an extension. How does the third largest market in the country have so many terrible broadcasters?

Hawk Harrelson
Jeff Joniak
Pat Hughes

I sure hope so.

Otherwise it is making me a tad queasy

I'm being serious. I don't like any of the three I listed.

Interesting. I would never have guessed someone would put Hughes and Joniak in the same category.

Hughes was great, he's lost a step. He's got old man's prostate problems and disappears for 45 minute stretches.

John Rooney with the Sox was a hundred times better.

Putting aside that Pat Hughes doesn't belong on any worst lists, the #1 market in the country has John Sterling, Suzyn Waldman, Ken Daneyko, and most of the staff of the YES Network.

I never get the Joniak hate .. I think he does a pretty good job.

Joniak is ok I guess.
Side note. Last weekend I was driving around oshkosh and goddamn you think sports radio is meatball bullshit here you have got to sample some Appleton or GB (where ever the hell that signal came from) radio. Woof.

Joniak is fine enough. Football on the radio has a way of not really making inroads outside the respective home markets. Who does Chiefs games and where? I don't know.

All sports except baseball are terrible on the radio.

It's not hate.

Jeff is a great guy personally and a mediocre PBP guy that was, and still is a budget hire.

I can count on 1 hand the number of times I listened to a Bears game on the radio. His highlights sound fine.
