You guys have this all wrong. Comcast sees this as the equivalent of Sporting News Radio. It costs them next to nothing and they fill air time during a period where they get no ratings. Comcast will let this thing go on for as long as North would like.

North simply wants this to break even for the first year as he attempts to spin it into a lucrative radio simulcast. I think he has enough sponsors in his pocket for it to make a little bit of money.

This thing is going to be on for the long haul. I predict no less than three years, but Jiggs will be replaced by the Super Bowl of 2009. Jiggles will replace him and they will try to make this a Regis and Kathy Lee type of show.

Hey ALL RIGHT! Show's over on my birthday! Happy Birthday DARKO!
This show will make it past that. I'll give it to 10/31.

Yes but they'll have to deal with the aggravation of Bebe & Jiggles. And possibly embarrassment. And heaven forfend anything racially derogatory goes down...

I think they will give him a chance to do a full year.
Things will get bad during football but they'll let it
run through the Super Bowl and pull the plug.

They've got a contract for a year, and Good Dolphin's points are dead on. I'm with T-Bone on the date, if not later. It'll be 2010 at least before Comcast does something else with the time.

Mr. Good Dolphin. I respect your opinion in theory, but as you stated, North wants to break even and when he drops $200,000?

I agree North will toss Jiggs under the mack truck in his own special "The guy left the show. I never fired him", but it will be because North pays him $5 an hour and would rather have Jen sitting on his lap saying "yes Mike"

All being said, I am taking Labor Day Weekend, 9-01- 2009, without any formal announcment, he will just say, "Long vacation"

When north's book comes out and become's a best seller, north will quit the comcast show and hit the road for a book signing tour and then work on the movie version of the book. in 2010, north will be so popular, espn will beg him to take over for colin cowterd and north will turn them down and start his own webio show from his brand new Nort's Steakhouse, which will take over Ditka's spot on chestnut(the coach will pass on in late 2009 and his restaurant will go down shortly therafter) espn will finally get their man as north will agree to let them simulcast his webio show for 7 figures. Jen jen will also hit the bigtime. her and erin andrews will host a new show aimed at both males and females--SSSS-Sports, Shoes, Shopping, Sex with jen and erin. jen will also write a book, "how to hook a sugardaddy in 4 easy slurps" I know this is a bold prediction, but just ask pappy and he will tell you how great he is.

Jiggs out 06/01/2009
I think Comcast makes a move to make the show more professional at that point, and possibly will throw Jiggles out, too.

Jiggs last day will be 2/27/09.
3/2/09 the show will be rechristened "The Mike North Show".
5/29/09 is the last show.

The only way to make it more professional will be to cancel it. Nothing North has ever done has been professional.

Dolphin....you're one of my favs but this is a simple as Nike North. There is an embarrassment factor here. I've said it on other posts. What will they talk about for three hours in Feb and March? Corno will have to save face here. You say its cheap to fill this air time. Wouldnt there ratings be better if they showed replays of games from the night before? I would think so and that would be cheaper. Maybe you'd have a point if it were someone other than a retard. Is he 12? His coats on. Its off. His hats straight. His hats backwards. He cant stop talking over Jiggs.

What entertainment wise value dose this show bring? A local news/talk show? All of the other networks do it better. There is not enough Chicago sports talk to keep fans and most dont need to SEE it. They have fucking radios. I'd rather watch SportsCenter (and Ii hate it) over and over than watch that mess. Doesnt the average listener listen for less than twenty minutes? Who's gonna waste their precious time on that?

Who will watch Dolphin? Why will sponsors continue topay when no one sees it. SPONSORSHIP is the only revenue. NO REVENUE-No show!

And you forgot the economy factor. Sponsors will pick and choose their advertising revenue. They wont just throw down irresponsibly. Every dollar counts now a days.

I'm not a North guy, but I gotta agree with Dolphin. They had nothing before and they're paying nothing now. It keeps going for a while.

I agree with Dolphin too but will North be willing to continue to operate at what must be a loss or break even?

id say 2022. the show is clearly gaining momentum, and i see it becoming a powerhouse and "must see" type broadcasting. the "monsters" will only end when both north and jiggetts decide that they have accomplished everything that they want to in the sports talk industry, and there will be a lot of hoopla when they hand the reigns over to holmes and zaidman, and people will wonder whether or not they can keep the same vibe, and continue the shows prosperity.
