All shows need a call in segment where the topic is "Did host X deserve to be punched." Hard to think of a show where the answer would be "no."

I assumed it happened during the night, but it happened at 9:30 AM Saturday morning. As he went outside to greet his friends, there was a crazy guy outside about 50ft away yelling and MF-ing no one in particular. Connor said to his friends "Who the fuck is this guy" and pointed back at him. Connor didn't think the guy heard or noticed, he apparently did, and ran up and punched him in the eye.

His friends did nothing and the guy ran away. I felt bad for him until he told the story. He isn't getting much sympathy from callers or texters.

He's also apparently chasing discourteous motorists on his bike (bicycle...not motorcycle). What does he think he's going to do if he catches up to them? There are a lot of people out there who just don't give a fuck. He's going to get his ass kicked.

If he started some bullshit talking with me by the drivers door, I am opening it violently and knocking his ass down. I see too many cyclists run red lights and swerve as they want thru traffic.

I always make sure to yell, "I hope you get hit by a bus!" when they do that nonsense.

Based on the story, sounds like a naive guy. We've all run into crazy people. You keep your mouth shut when you encounter one. Sounds like he was trying to be cool with his friends watching by making a "smart ass" comment. Didn't deserve to be hit. But he should have known he could have been hit if he says something. You always assume the worst in a situation like this.

Always avoid people if you can. People suck and you should always assume they are dangerous. That's Beardown's life lesson. You have your friends and family (Many of them suck and are dangerous, but at least you know them). Keep your mouth shut with everybody else and try to avoid them.

....or know you can kick someones ass before you mouth off to them.

I was kind of surprised to see "Connor McKnight explains why he got punched in the face" on the front page of http://thegamechicago.com/

Given the details not really something to be proud of. Builds his nerd cred?

I understand them talking about it on the show, but it does seem like an odd thing for the station to promote. Immediately taking a picture of himself and posting it on Twitter doesn't really make him a sympathetic figure. Of course, explaining what happened pretty much ruined that anyway.

I want the insane person's side of the incident. The truth lies somewhere in between. I'll give him credit for confessing to a story that makes him out to be a bitch. Larry would have spun this event to make it look like he was defending a woman's honor and ten other guys kicked his ass.
