make fun of murph all you want. the fact is he pulled in the biggest #'s at the score when he was there. He got his producers big bonuses that those other losers never got.

the hate was out of pure jealousy . murph did nothing to those idiots. they were the ones that turned on him. murph had the most professional and prepared show on the score. those other douchebags would come in hungover half the week and unprepared.

i'm a cubs fan, so..i did like murph..especially the early days when the score would stop broadcasting at sundown or 7pm. miss a little, miss a lot. the cubs were the only thing he could talk about, no doubt non-cub fans would get turned off. the fake e-mailer opened him up for the scorn. no need for that - unless you write the cubs questions/dilemmas you have prepared an answer(s) for and look like a baseball genius doing so. naughty stuff.

already, i recently heard the grobber get ripped for 'asking' an intern to clean up his dog's mess in the studio. twice...the intern refused both times and intern either quit or got fired - i couldn't remember. the man brings his dog to the studio for a show? remember, the grobber pulled the press pass for cash scam that got him into trouble years ago.

Great story about Murph from 'Fan Talk' during the WLS days.

Murph use to get a dad call in every once in a while who had a mentally disabled son. Murph use to put the kid on the air and talk to him about the local sports teams and he would really ham it up for the kid to make him feel special.

The company I was with at the time had a marketing deal with Vine Line. For some reason, Vine Line use to get letters addressed to Murph that were meant to go to WLS. We got one letter from that Dad and how he was gushing how great Murph made the kid feel. The kid would be talking about the one call w/ Murph all week and get out of whatever issues he had due to his condition. It was great to read.

That's THE REAL Mike Murphy for you haters. The guy who use to work full time selling appliances at Montgomery Ward and radio was just a fun side gig. The fun side gig turned into a dream come true for him. Murph wasn't a perfect guy - but his personal life I did not give a shit about - what I heard and saw with my own eyes and ears on a professional level is what I'll always remember about Murph - a stand up guy.
