Yes. He said it last night during his shift. It must be enough worth mentioning but would they really pay an amount that is anything but a nice little bonus for watching games?

Exactly. His shots at Rodgers have been going on for years. Now it got national attention and he has to apologize. And he really didn't apologize to Rodgers. He apologized to fellow voters for putting them in a bad position. Hub is just like athletes when it comes to apologies.

I don't know, if I'm Hub I just say "fuck you", I stand by what I said. He's not a kid looking to make it. He's close to retirement.

But it's classic Hub. He often makes biting comments, then after he says it, he'll say something like "Well, I shouldn't say that.". No, Hub, that's what you wanted to say.

He's always been a weasel in that regard.

It was a terrible mistake on my part to join the conversation. (Going after Parkins for stabbing him in the back). I feel strongly about the reasoning and rationale about what my vote will be. (Won't vote anti-vaxxer). In terms of how I expressed it I was wrong in an inappropriate way.The context was reasonable. I don't apologize for that at all.

Hub's Score talk was always stick to sports, & respectful. He came across as a decent guy. But, his Aaron Rodgers on-air rage has lowered him into the Bernstein, Larry, Parkins, Spiegel, Goff liberal cesspool.

Hub is a sports talk Karen. He was talking to someone on air who invited him to Florida and he said he can't go there because he hates Ron Desantis.

The difference between Rodgers and Hub is that Rodgers is important enough to not have to apologize. Hub is expendable and he's knows it, hence the apology. Hub's role in voting is to vote for the best player for MVP, but he let his personal dislike of Rodgers off-field decisions bias him. Part of attempting to be objective is basing your votes on stats as opposed to personality.

Oh yeah. Parkins absolutely baited him. That's what Parkins does. But Hub is 69 years old and has been doing this shit for 5 decades. I don't like that he blames Parkins. He should be better then to take the bait. But he wanted to take the bait cuz he didn't see didn't see the negative push back coming from it. He's too old to not see that. And he shouldn't blame Parkins. Hub has been in this stupid sports media business well before Parkins was born.

Hub was on P&S this afternoon and they brought up last week’s Rodgers controversy right away and Hub wanted nothing to do with it. He basically said it would be better to move on - which they did. He didn’t seem happy though.

Parkins seems to not care that he pisses off guests. Those in weekly slots or otherwise.

Parkins has said many times that he enjoys confrontation and uncomfortable radio.

He does seem more interested in having a good interview/show than coddling guests.

Interesting Parkins & Spiegel are sports outsiders who have no connections. "Spiegs & I read articles all day about the Bears."

The recent article from the Athletic detailing the problems during the Nagy era completely invalidated Hub's ongoing defense of the McKaskey family and Ted Phillips.

Time and time again callers will bring up that the organization needs to replace Phillips, Hub always responds with, "Ted is not involved in football decisions", yet the article revealed that the only reason Pace was hired was because he was recommended by people that Ted was friendly with and that the GM of the Saints was a primary force in the Bears hiring Pace. So in fact, Ted Phillips is not only involved in football decisions, he is the primary influencer on George McKaskey when it comes to making the ultimate football decisions.

The question is this, Hub must know this, why does he feel the need to completely lie to the public on a daily basis?

The guy has zero credibility.

Hub told Parkins today that the Bears can be a top 5 defense next year with just a bit of "tweaking."

On P&S today, Hub alleged that he had heard sources tell him that Ted Phillips was in on the press conference zoom as a way for him to "save face," as he will no longer be involved in the GM/HC search. Save face for whom? The fans who already hate him, or ownership who already loves him?

Neither. Saving face for Ted's own massive ego.

Hub's view is unknown guys that played well at the end will continue that trend, those who were bad will return to form and old guys will stay the same. I think maybe Hub is America/Antarctica.

This seems to be the only plausible explanation, in which case the bears are exactly as fucked as we thought they were.

When has the GM of the Bears been a primary force in another team hiring its GM? Why is Mickey Loomis volunteering to staff the Bears?

Pace was hired from the Saints. Of course Loomis played a key role in that. Pace was Loomis' protege, and Loomis is buddies with Accorsi. I'm sure Loomis' recommendation carried a lot of weight with Accorsi. Isn't that kind of how the hiring process works in a lot of areas?

The more troubling item from the article is that Loomis also played a role in the selection of Fox as Pace's first head coach. I have no idea why he would have been involved in that.

This is a business where you only keep your job if you win, it's not the local Starbucks where you hire people based on the recommendation of pals.

If I were another GM and there was a team that was incompetent enough to hire on my recommendation, I am telling them to hire the weakest guy in my organization because I know he will consistently do the wrong thing, making my job easier. '

The other GM's and Coaches will miss Pace and Nagy because with Pace they knew they could easily fleece him for draft picks and he would pick the wrong guy at the top of the draft, making it easier for them, and the coaches, especially the DC's could easily outcoach and outwork Nagy and that they did not have to worry about his offense.

Hub talking to "sports guys" P & S about his MVP vote was ready to spill his guts.... and they lost his connection. Everybody was cracking up denying a conspiracy to silence Hub. Best P & S I've heard since (house handy inept) P got help from his Score underlings moving into his new mansion.

They were saying that Kupp was the first WR to win the "triple crown" (leading in yards, receptions, and TDs) and no other WR has even had a career triple crown except Jerry Rice. That didn't seem right, but when I checked Randy Moss, he never led the league in yards and also never led in receptions. A few other notables I checked:

Cris Carter never led in yardage.
Lynn Swann never led in yardage or receptions.
Michael Irvin never led in TDs or receptions.
Terrell Owens never led in yardage or receptions.
James Lofton never led in ANY category.

Kupp's season was truly unique.

Hub's on the Goerge Ofman podcast this coming week. Hopefully Hub has a few belts before the show and tells some never before told good stories. Dan Wiederer who's really great on ESPN 1000 is on "House of L". But, I wouldn't listen to Larry's podcast if the pope was a guest.

The pope would have to have a few belts for me to listen to a podcast that he was on.

Yes, he should have gotten a lot more votes.

What an incredible year from him.

Hub on with George Ofman a pretty good listen. Really sounds foolish explaining the Rodgers comments still. Taking blame, then not taking blame. The most direct comment here about Parkins setting him up. The guys a liberal. But, I can still listen to him. Interesting timeline history of pfw over the years.

It’s very magnanimous of you to be willing to listen to a liberal talking sports. Imagine allowing yourself to hear the opinion of someone who has different political views without flipping the station… even if they’re not talking politics.

Hub appears to have abandoned his Pace was underrated view. Now backpedaling saying there was a lack of talent to succeed. P & S really are keeping silent during interviews again today with Hub. There's no reason for them to speak much other than the question.

Classic Haugh with Biggs calling Bears head coach Matt Eberflus "refreshingly candid".

Spiegel praised Poles for his "transparency".
