I agree whole heartedly with all the critiques of Bruce Levine who embarrasses himself as he stays true to his reputation as a shill for anyone who will talk to him. I always imagined that he probably smells like moth balls and foot powder. BUT, the one role in which David Haugh shines is when he co hosts Saturdays with Levine. He doesn't swallow Levine's BS whole. He challenges him and it makes the baseball show worth a listen.
Sure, I appreciate Haugh using his limited brain power to whip up some basic logic to throw back at Bruce but it results in nothing. Bruce stammers a bit, says things like "sure, but that doesn't mean..." (despite it literally meaning whatever it was he was referencing) and continues on in his blind defense of how Mr. Ricketts and his family are far from cheap/Mr. Reinsdorf has a love for baseball that goes back to his boyhood days in New York with the Dodgers etc etc. Bruce is like a dull robot programmed to barf out the same crap time and time again, with zero impact from people with even halfway critical thinking brains around him (co-hosts, guests, callers etc).
I only know of 670 Bruce - was he as useless and mush-mouthed on 1000 all those years? This guy is really proof that simply sticking around, somehow some way, is way more than half the battle. It's embarassing to think that this guy is "representing" Chicago (should an out of town station ever reach out to get the local angle from a Chicago reporter). Yuck.
